Broken Porcelain
With a well thought out list You shatter into a million pieces And I slide into slumber Waking to you still spread across the floor Should I resolve this Or let it sit I see where I can avoid the shards But others are in peril You aren’t an experiment in humanity You bend and break Like the rest of us Gravity or fate brought you here I just informed you of the jump midair You see I used to try to save After too many pieces in my own foot My heart drained all its liquid gold So I’m left disaffected Curious as to who will sweep you up Until your last pitiful groan Leaps from the floor and digs into my skin My little porcelain king that shatters so quickly Let me find some adhesive To resolve my conscious And wake my gold deposits For somewhere within Pity still stirs A guilty mind isn’t another weight to bear Emphatically searching leads me to no glue Clear intentions start to radiate into the streets As I stumble, more purity seeps out of my skin Might I find all of your pieces? Or is the infinity of your self loathing beyond repair I’ll breathe in deeply And pass out Because kindness has evaded me Broken dainty things Can’t be fixed by a dark heart
And all I see is the bastard in me
