being on tumblr, experiencing "fandoms," simmering in other peoples' headcanons and theories has made me realize that it doesn't matter how I write my characters. their personalities will be wildly misinterpreted anyway. or maybe they'll stick them in an "AU" where nothing about them remains.

I just made my first response in my Intro to Women's Studies class, and it was about whether or not gender roles are beneficial and I said No, but the other responses so far are all like "gender roles help people understand the world they're great ladeedeedaaa".
