Just One Drink
(JohnnyGatXBoss!Belle, AOM AU)
Belle stared at her phone, reading the live translation of the two men a few seats over from her at the bar, a familiar and comforting rage pooling in her gut. They were talking about her, about what they'd like to do with her if they had a chance, all in the open, believing that a poor tourist like her had no clue as to what they were saying. She didn't miss the looks, and she didn't pay a grand and a half for her phone for nothing. Slowly, Belle checked her manicured nails, then she slowly took out her hoop earrings, slipping them into her purse. Rolling her head from side to side, she tapped out a response on the translating app, pushing the volume to max. While the robotic voice that sounded out was speaking in Korean, she knew exactly what it was talking about.
"It's funny that three losers, stuck in cubicles all day and don't seem to understand soap think that they have a snowball's chance in hell with even getting away with looking in my direction."
The three men stilled, ties loose around their neck and drinks hanging in the air, shame colouring their face. She slowly swivelled on her bar stool, cracking her knuckles one by one as the translator rattled on without pause.
"Even more hilarious is the fact that these idiots thought that they could get away with talking nasty shit about me without me knowing cuz they think I'm stupid as fuck yank from the states who has no access to a fucking phone app."
Two of the group looked just about ready to flee from the place, unable to take the disapproving stares from the bar around them, scooping up their suit jackets and cases. Expect one. Belle knew he had drank to much, from the sway in his step, the unfocused temper flaring in his red eyes, the fact that he was the loudest of the bunch when describing his fantasies involving her. She let the old, cruel smirk find its way to her lips, almost being transported back in time- back to another world- as the translator said its last piece.
"But what I find absolutely rib-breaking is that an ugly motherfucker whose hairline looks like its losing a war his beer belly no longer small enough to hang with the rest of his body and game so weak he wouldn't even pull at a mortuary thinks that he could even lay a finger on someone of my level even in their fantasies."
All they could hear was the soft jazz playing over the tense silence. Belle saw the violence in his eyes. Belle craved it. She slowly lifted up a finger, and crooked it towards her. An invitation. And insult. He rushed her, garbled words spilling from his lips, his friends just missing the back of his shirt as they make a grab for him. Belle's shift to the floor was barely a step, tall as she is, and with a swift and decisive motion, once he got into arm's length she snatched his tie and hauled him forward. With a sweep down, his head sailed towards the edge of the bar- and bounced with a satisfying thud. He crumpled like a hot air balloon, and the bar was awe, shock and excitement. His friends stood dumbstruck as she pushed back up onto her seat, eyeing them down the bar, wishing they would join in. But they kept bowing as they dragged their unfortunate colleague from the establishment, and she sighed from the disappointment. Life was boring now. She payed the bartender a hefty tip to stop her from looking so displeased, and sipped at her newly refreshed drink. While satisfying, teaching assholes lessons now and then did not scratch the itch of her old life. Didn't bring a spark to what certainly was an extravagant, but stagnant career. Her mama would think her crazy for her thoughts. She wanted to get jumped in an alley, to beat someone half-to-death in response. She wanted to be held at gun point, so she could practice her disarming techniques. She wanted an enemy, set out to destroy her just as much as she was. But that wouldn't happen- not in this life.
"Hey there. Those were some nice moves. Can I get ya a victory drink?"
Her head swivelled on her neck, half-way through a gulp of her Woo-Hoo. Johnny Gat, her right hand man, her best friend, idol and love of her life, had taken a seat next to her at the bar, curiosity and admiration curving his beautiful lips.
Belle choked on her drink, her heart making no room in her throat for it all.

--- the imp is here. he's waddling forward and plopping his head against the prince's chest by way of greeting, arms limp at his sides.
it's a hug. kind of. it's certainly some show of affection.
a gentle headbutt. like a goat.
the owl hoots quietly in surprise and he raises his brows, blinking a few times.
“blitz? are you… alright?”
he wasn’t expecting him at this time, but he sure is glad to see him!
