Where do I get started:

HHH it’s already such a hard question. The fact is that my very first speciality is to procastinate. You will prolly get better advice on this point by someone else. Anyway, i’m a very slow starter. But I think that what helps me to start faster is to set myself a very comfy space. With tiny distractions because I need them, but not too much. Usually I just end up starting my day scrolling throught some of my social media where I follow lots of artists (and memes things). So I’m getting inspired and the funny memes get me in a good mood.Then I set my work place with my comp, and fresh drinks (water/fruitjuice/soda). I open my soft and put one of my playlist, or documentaries or shows/movies I like in the background. Those are my tiny distraction. Because I switch my playlist often, or listen sometimes too intensly the documentary or end up watching my fav scenes of the show/movie playing. But like, it’s my way to take litlle breaks when drawing and so I end up being able to draw for hours.

I don’t know if it was the reply you wanted to get ahaha, but yeah. Everything goes by the confort to me. I need to be confortable to do something like drawing. or anything else. Some people can dive right into it, personnaly I can’t. I need my precious set up and work on my mood.

How to I get over the inactivity or idleness  : (thinking about stuff but not actually doing it)

*lays down a minute* Wow, I wish I knew. I mean. I find myself pretty much inactive that way. I think of a lot of stuff and i’m actually not doing them. xD I’m terrible at that. To be honest tho, being unproductive really drive me down and depresse me and also make me very angry at myself. When I get in that mood, it’s very very hard for me to get out... and generally I end doing absolutely nothing for one day and I hate when it happens.. So I’m upset that day. If my mind start to think better soon enough, I just accept that unproductivity and inactivity as a part of my creative process. I obviously needed a break! So I’m accepting that fact and take my break seriously. Taking time for me, cooking me something good, taking a hot bath, talking to my friends (more than I usualy do, like calling them or such xD), playing a game. My best way to get over the inactivity time I get sometimes is to accept that I needed it. So usualy my inactivity last a couple of day. I start upset because I’d like to not need a break and just keep going, then accepting, enjoying it for the benefits it gives then go back again on productivity. o/ Yay!

Also, I think I need to precise how i got to drawing already. What really motivated me to draw in the very first place, like 3 years ago. I was in a group of friend and I still am, in which everyone like drawings, but are not especially good at it. I challenged them, I challenged everyone to do at least one drawing/day in 15minutes or less. Don’t ask me why, it was just a way for me to feel in obligation to not procastinate and just DO IT. and it all started that way. The drawing were having no restriction at all, the only rules was to make a sketch everyday, in less than 15min. If you really want to draw, you can find 15min during your day. Even if ya need to draw on toiletpaper. XD *hardcore* But I remember I drew on some tissues or such one day, but anyway. This helped me a lot! And we were publishing those drawing on tumblr btw!  (hhhh even if I ended be the one to stop that challenge, I still did it for a good amount of time and got me to just draw everyday for way longuer than 15 min).

Well yeah so, I suppose that my friends helped me to stick to stick into drawing when it was hard to start all alone. And for that Drawpile is wonderful, since you can join other peoples canvas! But that’s an other topic.

I draw I cant even draw anything without having a reference:

Well, that’s clearly not a bad thing! Having a reference help you to study what you want to draw. It’s actually really good if you’re getting reference before to draw something if you want to get it right. °v°

I draw the head first, but tell me which is easy to get started. 

I always start with the head as well and I’m used to it now. But I know some friends start with the eyes, others with the body then the head. I think it only depends of what you’re more confortable with here. I don’t think there is an easier one by nature. Only depends of your way to draw here. :3

I seem to have trouble exactly replicating the drawing and expression:

I don’t think I’ll be able to help you here. I know that some of my friends learned to draw by replicating drawings but for my part, I never managed to replicate any, so I give up on that even if I wanted to. I always end by changing the posture or the expression. xD I prefer get inspiration from a picture than reproduce it exactly. :3 Then for the braids... Well I havent done a tutorial about them but I did one about my way to do ropes, and I think it applies! So, i wish it can help you! > Here <

A traditionnal art doodle dump!

I'm not really skilled here, and I don't have the best material to draw on, but I start to like the style I have on paper. It's not quite the same, paper is more difficult for me. I'm almost always unsatisfied of the color I can get on paper. XD So sometimes (aka always when I’m not lazy), I edit the colors on photoshop after scanning the drawings.

And I get that kind of result:
