11, 14, & 19 for Yuo Lavellan!

11. Are they better with children, animals, or neither?

Yuo is very good with both children and animals. the animal-thing doesn’t surprise people, but the children-thing does. but Yuo has Sylaise’s vallaslin for a reason. he’s always looked after the youngest and weakest of his people. he might be brusque and direct and uncompromising with adults, but those are people with life experience who should know better. children require gentleness. they need help and guidance. they need someone kind to show them the right path and encourage interests and skills. Yuo looks fearsome, but he’s never met a child he couldn’t charm.

14. Do they have any hobbies?

Yuo’s hobbies include sparring, reading, and arcane study. he enjoys debate, talking walks in nature, and stargazing. he learned carving from his father and often carries around bits of wood and bone to whittle when his hands need something to do (every now and then, his companions find little figurines hidden among their belongings, but Yuo never says anything about them). keeping up his weapons and armor is more a necessity than a hobby, but Yuo enjoys it nevertheless. he isn’t a skilled singer, but when he works, he often hums Dalish tunes learned from his mother.

19. Do they have any scars? What are they from?

Yuo has,, a lot of scars. most of them are concentrated on his arms and back, but he has some on his legs and chest, as well. a majority of them are from fighting. as a battle mage and blood mage, he often leaves openings for his opponents to strike him, and then uses the pain and/or blood to his advantage. having his blood magic scars appear as normal battle injuries also helps in keeping that particular talent a secret.

he has a curved scar around his left temple that he received in the Conclave explosion. there are two scars along his nose that he received in the destruction of Haven. there’s a small scar on his chin from a templar’s gauntlet, and a longer scar along his right jaw which he received in the battle his father fell in. Yuo takes a lot of pride in his scars and enjoys showing them off. whenever he is contemplative or embarrassed, he has a tendency to run his fingers over them.

Random things that happened to me today and that I wanted to share:) -iced coffee at 12 degrees outside- felt cute- got a compliment for new clothes- did homework I didn't have to do- cute boy and girl in the bus- had a written fight with friends in class and laughed so loud my teacher glanced at us- talked to an old friends mum and she was very lovely- planned meeting an internet friend- texted my best friend all morning- only had 5 lessons-
