I just wanted to share this nice article from 2008 about the coronation of Blessed Charles as the last King of Hungary with very nice pictures. The ceremony in 1916 had been organised by Count Miklós Bánffy, Hungarian politician, novelist, and director of the Hungarian State Theatres.
"It is fortuitous that the man who organized much of the coronation was the director of the Royal Hungarian Theaters (including the Budapest Opera House, where he is honoured to this day): none other than Count Miklós Bánffy, one of the greatest novelists ever who ever put pen to paper. His memoirs were translated into English in a single volume, The Phoenix Land, and open with two chapters portraying the coronation. The first deals with the organization of the rites in the middle of wartime Budapest, while the second chapter relays the events of the day itself."
The article also contains an except from Bánffy's memoirs about the late Crown Prince Otto, who was 4 years old during the coronation and passed away in 2011.
Anyways, enjoy the pictures and the nice article. It's a historical event that doesn't get much attention these days, but both Miklós Bánffy and Otto von Habsburg are amazing people that contributed a lot to the world in their long lives.
