7-Eleven AU
Ok so I was inspired by @blessedkeith and their library au, and when I offhandedly said I should make an au based on my job, they were immediately invested, and what’s a girl supposed to do?
So under the cut is Part 1 of my brand new 7-Eleven au that I have been working on all day with them lol
So first of all the 7-Eleven also has a car wash and a gas station
It’s open 24 hours, 365 days a year except for New Year’s Eve and New Years (a luxury I don’t actually have at my job lmao)
The car wash is only open from 7 am to 9 pm though
There are fourteen employees in total
Alfor was the owner, but as in most AUs, he dies and leaves the store to Allura.
She comes by like once or twice a week to check up on things, make sure everything is in order, tells the employees what they need to fix
She’s kind of intimidating but also really nice lol and sometimes she’ll bring by slices of cake or pie or tiramisu for her employees
Coran is a family friend to Allura, you know the one: the one that’s called an uncle even if there’s no blood relation
He was the manager under Alfor and now he’s still the manager under Allura
He honestly loves his job and he comes by on weekdays and is super personable. He always has long winded conversations with the employees while they’re working
However he’s also a ball of protective rage so if anyone is rude to Allura or the employees he is ready to F I G H T
He’s kicked out a few customers in his day lmao (more on this in a later post lol)
Shiro is the oldest employee at 25 years old
I was going to make him manager but he has this aura of calm and authority that makes people contrite and then where would my throwdown stories go?
He’s the employee that literally does not give a fuck because he’s too old for this shit (shut up Shiro you still count as a millenial). But yes, he politely and firmly tells customers when they are wrong in every way. He will list the ways.
Nothing can touch Shiro. No one would ever think of firing him; he could probably get away with yelling at customers but never has
Pidge is the worker that is pretty chill but gets annoyed really easily
If a customer gets salty she will either fire back with a snappy comeback, or just straight up say “I can’t deal with you, the other cashier will attend you”
These customers always threaten to complain about her but they never do for some reason. Tis a mystery.
Keith is the worker with a temper that he usually keeps in check, usually being the key word
If he’s working with Shiro or Hunk, he reigns himself in and watches the masters at work
If he’s working with Shay or any other employee, he limits himself to tight smiles and occasional sighs
If he’s working with Lance, he’s honestly too distracted by Lance’s antics to really give a fuck
But if he’s working with Pidge, he’s basically egged on by her behavior and voila! There are now two Pidge’s at work
He’s the one to stock the cooler (more on that in a later post)
Hunk is a customer favorite, renowned for his kindness and willingness to help everyone
Kids and adults alike are in awe of his muscles
Sometimes he’ll flex just to get a smile out of a sad customer
Kids always have little kid crushes on him and they bring him nice cards akshefoiasek
He’s the one to fix the slurpee machine when it acts up
On Bring Your Own Cup Day, he can’t stand guard because there are only two people per shift and it gets B U S Y, but he does keep an eye out because kids are damn messy
Everyone’s messy but kids are the ones you have to look out for
And he changes the syrups for the Slurpees and the soda fountain
Those syrup boxes can bring someone to their knees y’all
He works night shift two days a week: the days when the big orders come in because he is strong. Those crates are heavy af. (more later)
He works morning shift once a week and afternoon shift once a week.
And he works as a car wash attendant (more later) twice a week
This boy is a hard worker can you tell I love him
Lance is also a favorite, and by far the friendliest
Yes, even more than Hunk
Hunk is too practical to listen to every single story the customers tell him, especially when it’s busy and it’s almost the end of his shift
But Lance is always genuinely interested. He’s fun and lively and the customers and their kids absolutely love him.
More than one kid has had one of those little kid crushes on him.
And he has definitely been an awakening for a few teens lmao
They blush around him all the time
He’s also the fastest cashier and he always gets compliments on it
Matt is a car wash attendant
He used to work inside but he and Pidge always distracted each other (More later)
Shay is another cashier and car wash attendant
She is incredibly sweet and has the most engaging stories. Customers stop talking to listen to her.
She works with Hunk those two nights a week because she’s also strong af and scans in all the items super fast (More later)
