I thought that the reason the eluvian was tainted was because it was linked to the Black City. Tamlin even mentions he sees a city through the eluvian. I could be wrong but…yeah. 😅
this is true! it wasnt confirmed what he saw was the Black City, but the implication is strong. but afaik objects can’t be corrupted by taint. so maybe there was just a thin film of like,,,blight bacteria on it or something, and thats what Merrill was cleaning off in DA2.
