Been a big fan of yours for a while now, every piece is just amazing fr, I was just wondering (and sorry if you’ve answered this before) what it is that gets that… almost texture-like appearance to your pieces? Do you put textures or noise or something over your work or is it some kind of textured brushes you paint with, it’s hard to explain what I mean haha but it just makes your pieces look incredible and paper-esc I adore it 😍

it's a combination of my own brushes and textures from wikimedia commons (thankfully one of the few sites I can still get reliable fair use stuff from that's not flooded with AI)

Hm hm I keep trying to compose my thoughts but all I can come up with is 'it's frustrating". I was watching Elliot Sang's video this morning about the state of leftism and just thinking man. There's a lot of focus on making 'the movement' more palatable, more mainstream, more appealing, but if it means treating the liberation and safety of minorities as secondary to the tastes and sensibilities of white voters how on earth is that progress from white supremacy? If it means alienating the people who are most vulnerable, siphoning them from the movement, treating their struggles as side quests instead of a shared suffering brought about by global extraction & exploitation, what are we even doing?

And such and so on. You get it. Well. Mm. I'm done typing lol.

it's baffling to still see people be like "you can convince white conservatives to like socialism if you don't use buzzwords! and then work on racism later" in the united states. like yeah, it probably is really easy to convince people that having things is good. how are you going to convince them that the people they hate having things isn't a problem?
