There were times when Kent was needy. Revision: Kent was needy by nature. There were times when his desire for attention and affection were more pronounced than usual. This was one such occasion.
There had been nothing in particular to prompt it-- Kent just happened to wake up feeling like he had some void to fill. That lead to, logically, a heartfelt ‘good morning’ kiss as Elliot’s wake up call. A long, breathy thing that was more unintelligible loving gibberish than a kiss.

( He is actually very hurt at the assumption that he isn’t. He usually let most of her snideful comments slide, even if they hurt him occassionally (It’s because of her bad upbringing! She needs more, better friends, he tells himself) but it’s another thing entirely to just ask him his own opinion.
It’s on an entirely different plane to actively ask him to drop friendships. He, as usual, tries to remain a neutral party... But he doesn’t think he’ll be able to get away with that much longer. Even then, he sighs and puts on a happy face and extends his arms. His tone becomes happier too. )

Every step she took, every breath she made, HIM had watched her. They had followed her to where she’d lived. Invaded her privacy. It was one of the many, many ways HIM kept themselves entertained. They’d been with her the whole day. A step or two behind her, to but vanishing without a trace when she turned. They waited until just around midnight before breaking in.
The door flew inside, torn off the hinges with animal claw marks carved in. They tossed in the body of a random citizen and slithered their way in. Their body contorted in impossible ways as they peeled themselves off the floor. Their bones creaking and c r a c k i n g with every movement. HIM’s fingers reeked of blood as much as they were soaked in it. They effortlessly grabbed the body and sank their teeth into it’s flesh and ripped apart a piece.
