My Top Fav Visually Impaired YouTubers (Other than Molly Burke)
Don’t get my wrong, Molly is great! I just feel like everyone has heard of her, and there are so many other VI channels that no one really ever addresses. There are some channels on here that are based on educating others about blindness, while others are made as resources for other VIPs. Obviously these aren’t the only VIP channels out there, but I picked my 4 favorites to share with those who may want to explore them. Anyhoo! Enjoy!
4. Cayla with a C: Cayla’s channel is mainly about sharing her story and talking about her experience living with retinitis pigmentosa.
3. Fashioneyesta: this girl rocks! I love her videos. This channel mainly talks about how BVIs don’t have to stop people from pursuing fashion. Ever heard someone say they have “the fashion sense of a blind person?” Well this channel is all about overcoming that stereotype and embracing new sensory ways to enjoy fashion.
2. The Blind Life: This channel is more of a resource for VIPs. The host, Sam, does a lot of BVI tech, from the classic white cane, to enlargement gadgets, to amazing apps, this channel is all about using tech to make life more accessible for VIPs.
1. HowCaseySeesIt: This is my personal fave! The channel itself is primarily about educating the sighted world about visual impairment, but I personally watch it so I can learn to better explain myself to my sighted peers. Casey’s channel actually became my I app for starting this blog (yay) and I love learning more about Albinism, even if we don’t have the same type.
