In 1996, Wilhelm Bronner made a series of sixteen or more wooden boxes containing metal angels. Some were naughty. One fat one was entitled Pig Angel. It had stubby wings, a pig snout, and an erect penis. A curvaceous female angel had pointy cone titties and copper wire for wavy "red" hair. There was a resting angel who had hung up her wings to relax in the middle of her box, another was riding a bike, another shooting an arrow. My angel is blind, so pokes her way along with the aid of a stick. Her head is held high and the artist explained that the curls coming out of her mouth were her curses to the gods for her fate. He said that the idea of words being represented as curls came from precolumbian Mesoamerican art. #blindangels #wilhelmbronner #artcollections #cursingthegods #germanartists #privateartcollection #visitmantua #borgovirgilio (presso La Macchina Fissa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSJgiDfoI6V/?utm_medium=tumblr
