#blindowlwilson was one of the creative forces behind #cannedheat but he was so much more than that...he was a student of early America blues & was so well versed he actually re-taught Son House his own songs when he re-recorded his early blues cuts in the 60s, he was also the only accompanist on that record. For the Hooker & Heat record the notoriously difficult to follow John Lee Hooker admired the ease with which Wilson could keep up & remarked that he must’ve been listening to his songs his whole life.
