The vertical movement of the Sandhills' golf courses provides so many opportunities for varying blind and semi-blind shots, creating uncertainty and excitement on top of the strategy. Perhaps that's why the region appeals to me so strongly. Brute strength seems to matter less than angles and distance control, very much in the linksland tradition.
