Hi, I'm hyperfixating, and instead of trying to break through to try new things, I'm going to embrace it. What this means is that I will be reading all of the hockey romance books by @greymichaela yet again, starting with Blindside Hit. I love these books, but I haven't actually reread Blindside Hit since it came out.
These posts will be tagged 'kat rereads ghr books' so you can blacklist if you want or need to. If anyone has preferences on if I publish in real time as I have thoughts or if I queue everything to publish basically all at once, feel free to tell me.
All right, let's go:
Hi,
So I’ve followed you for awhile and I’ve been wanting to read your books. The only thing I don’t know is where I should start/ in what order I should read them in. What’s your recommendation? Also your hair looks fab btw.
-M
Hi! Thank you for the compliment, first of all. :D Second, sorry for the delay, it has been a day and a half. So here’s the order you’ll (probably) want to read them in:
Blindside Hit
Roughing (standalone, but with appearances of the characters from BH, you don’t really need to have read it for it to make sense)
Odd Man Rush (also standalone, roughly concurrent w/Roughing, with appearances of characters from Roughing and BH)
Power Play (standalone, set after Roughing/OMR but not by much. Mentions of characters from other novels but no cameos “onscreen”. This is probably the truest standalone in that sense.)
Double Shifting (standalone, set after Power Play with mentions of characters from Roughing but again, no actual appearances. However, I do recommend you at least read Roughing before this one because it’s the old team of one of the main characters of that novel, and as such he’s mentioned fairly frequently. It will probably make more sense if you read that one first.)
There you go! Happy reading! :D
Okay. I started with Double Shifting (wild about it) and am now a little more than halfway into Roughing. It's become clear to me I am going to be reading EVERYTHING and I am thrilled. But I am already stressing out trying to decide whether to read Butterfly or Blindside Hit next. I mean, Butterfly is book 2 and has Felix. But after the cameo of Adam and Tenny I'm sooooo curious about that relationship. Help?
Well, are you more interested in meeting Adam and Etienne, or seeing Felix get his happy ending? (For what it’s worth, Tenny is one of my very favorites and I think you’ll love him)
I’d recommend Blindside and then Butterfly but it’s completely up to you! Thank you so much for reading them in the first place! ❤️
So I'm slowly working my way through your higher books when I need a pick be up and may have made a small mistake and thought it was a good idea to start reading Roughing for 'just a little bit' before I went to bed last night/this morning even knowing that I read Blindside Hit in one sitting. Then got to invested (my anxiety and stress levels may be not great and I may be projecting that onto Saint a bit...) and just finished it at approx 5 am. No regrets though because it's fantastic
*into earpiece* We got another one, boys
Gonna do a giveaway of a few signed copies of Blindside Hit, Roughing, and Power Play in a few days, I think. Stay tuned!
I had such a shifty week last week and am dreading the upcoming week. I have to get my second COVID shot on Tuesday and am really hoping I don’t get sick ( I work in healthcare). So, to make myself feel better, I am reading my favorite comfort book, Blindside Hit. I wish there was a way to see how many times I have already read it because I have a feeling I am in double digits. 💕
Aww honey, I’m sorry you had such an awful week! But I’m very glad Adam and Tenny are there to help you feel a little less shitty. By the way, have you read Odd Man Rush? If not, Adam and Tenny have a cameo in that, and Adam tells Noemi that he’s planning on proposing. So I hope you enjoy imagining how he does it. Maybe he puts all this time and effort into it but Tenny gets there first and then Adam gets mad at him for spoiling his Moment™. But he can’t stay mad, not when Tenny’s kneeling at his feet holding Adam’s hand and looking increasingly terrified that Adam’s going to say no. So all he can do is throw his arms around Tenny’s neck and kiss him breathless, and when that’s all out of their systems, he tells Tenny how he was going to propose and Tenny listens very gravely, nodding the whole time, and at the end, just says, “Mine was better,” and Adam punches him (and then has to kiss him again).
I’m also very glad you’re getting the second shot! Please take good care of yourself, okay?
I'm rereading Blindside Hit and the general coming out scene at Center Ice in chapter 2 is perfect. Everyone just so laid-back, sharing their sexual orientation like it's nothing... I hope the world will be like that one day, that people can say they're attracted to whoever without fear of repercussions and discrimination :) In the meantime, do you have plans for anyone in that LGBT+ squad? Liam and Johnny's story, or Robert's? And is that Theo the same one whose book you're writing now?
Thank you so much! I’ve gotten some flack about that, but the thing is, I don’t write to reflect the world as it is so much as the world as I want it to be, because that’s how we make it into that world, if that makes sense.
I don’t currently have serious plans for anyone else in the squad because my focus is taken up by Goalie Tandem, the small town novel, and the TK/Nolan fic I’m working on right now, BUT I did write Johnny and Liam’s story! You can find it here.
And no, this is a different Theo. ;)
