I read this section about 6x…. Twice out loud.
Just to provide some context, a Jamaican slave owner just lost his petition to block the emancipation of enslaved Africans on the island. Rather than witness their freedom, he decided to burn down their quarters…..
His disregard for their humanity… His position of power as a justice …eerily mirrors 2016 White American thought…..AND ACTION….
ACTIONsss.
1. The Harlem Renaissance wasn't the only urban blk arts/political/intellectual movement 2. Blk women BEEN in the politics game 3. Shout out to Chicago... And the resistance that they've BEEN executing... #nothingnew
