Surprisingly Blobfish are native to the waters around Australia and New Zealand, they cant be found anywhere else, this is probably due to Australia and New Zealands strong currents constantly pushing the Blobfish away from anything else. It doesnt help that Blobfish dont have any muscles in their body either.

In 2013 the Ugly Animal Preservation Society held a vote to decide what the worlds ugliest animal, and the blobfish was (wrongly) chosen as the worlds ugliest animal. Most people didnt even know what blobfish look like normally.

According to a fish expert in Sydney Australia blobfish tastes like butter and poached lobster tail. He also claims it was rich, sweet and juicy. He also stated that the flesh was the best part. He believes it should be on menus all around the world as chances of injurie are very low.
