These are all just stripped logs on their sides, here's a closeup of a couple:

yknow what i was wondering?
i wonder if someone's made a minecraft block equivalent to coolors.co
you put in a block you wanna use and generate blocks that go well with it. or you go completely random and it gives you a random set of blocks to use. that kind of thing
like i was thinking of trying a few builds with a lot of non-oxidized copper and was wondering what'd go well with copper's orange. honeycomb perhaps? unsure
stripped jungle log
Okay okay okay! So the star of our show is the stripped jungle log which is a really fun wood block because it has hints of green!
This means it pairs well not only with other woods(oak makes for a nice blend) but a lot of greenery as well which makes sense because well- It's a jungle log!
I tried a couple different stone-y materials but I found mudbricks and cobble work best, cobble especially with the mosy variants(That allow you to lead into some other green blocks like green concrete and concrete powder I'm sure you could throw terracotta in as well!)
Jungle stripped log doesn't seem to mix super well with darker stones, and oddly enough despite mixing well with cobble it isn't great with regular stone in my opinion. Idk, just a weird thing.
It seems to work well with busier blocks, probably because of how smooth it looks. Some blocks here work better when used in conjunction with some others but overall here's my picks :)
Not pictured but considered is glowstone which I think c ould work, but it might need something else to help it along..
I may also do some follow-ups with some mini-builds featuring the specified block if people are interested!! If not maybe I'll do it anyways sdjkfl;sd
Thank you for the ask!! I am passionate about minecraft colors :D
Theeee crimson wood from the nether! (I can't remember the name right now ABSMSBSMSB
oooh! Crimson Stems are fun :D
I'm not too fond of the base game crimson wood because it's. Well the planks and the stripped logs aren't exactly crimson you know?
But it's still fun though because on the regular stems they've got a little bit of an animation!
Anyways, as for what I like to pick from/what makes some sense, I've avoided a lot of the nether blocks that look decent to go for some of the more interesting ones :D
For planks I actually laid out all the different types of planks this time
They all have their pluses but my favorites were Mangrove and Birch, (Crimson planks look nice as well but they're from the same block so I excluded them)
As for everything else, I love gold next to nether blocks, and the various forms of ore(Aside from deepslate ore) look very nice! I also like the red mushroom bits and the mushroom stem as well as black terracotta and fire coral
I think bricks look decent but they'd probably look better in conjunction with other blocks.
Once again the ochre and pearlescent frog lights are some of my favorite choices as well as shroomlights.
On the stone-y end there's deepslate and blackstone that both look rather nice. I much prefer the blackstone but considering it was added in the nether update alongside crimson stems it makes sense!
There's also the nether bricks and red netherbricks, I prefer the red ones!
Lastly there's the stripped crimson wood and purple terracotta :D edit: I forgot sandstone but sandstone is also one of my favorite blocks with crimson stem skjld;f
Thank you for the ask!!
I reset my Block Palettes password, so here's a palette I guess.
Magenta glazed terracotta :)
Thank you for the challenge >:D
ANYWAYS, I'm going to get roasted alive for this post I bet Because i actually enjoy magenta glazed terracotta.
Probably the most difficult things about magenta glazed can be narrowed down to two things:
1) It's incredibly vibrant, so anything that doesn't match its vibrancy can get lost and look really bad next to it
2) Unlike most of the other Glazed terracottas it doesn't actually match up to all the edges, there's a pixel between the back of the arrow and the edge of the block, it's most visible on the top two blocks in this picture.
Additionally the background of the block is very busy with its single pixel stripes which is very different and jarring when compared to some of the other glazed terracottas.
I didn't do a lot of playing around with this palette so we'll just go straight to my picks :)
In terms of woods, Crimson planks has to be one of my favorites, it has a good balance that makes it look nice, it's a similar story for dark oak and mangrove planks specifically as well as the sides of spruce logs. Probably my wildest picks here are stripped warped stem and the oxidized coppers. I don't have a fancy explanation for them, they just scratch my brain in a good way when they're next to magenta glazed.
As for more stone-y blocks, I went for sandstone because it's got that right balance like dark oak planks do but in the other direction, it's on the paler side(Something like calcite would work for a similar reason)
I didn't like Deepslate or stone with it or any of the middle grey stones because they just don't have the saturation required to mix well- What did work reasonably well next to it though is blackstone! I think it's looks nice :D
As for light blocks, i went with shroomlights(Another good brain itch) as well as ochre and pearlescent frog lights :)
Finally we have the pink and magenta corals(I can't remember their actual names lmao) which are a little weird in terms of gathering but they look nice.
I guess I should probably also say that I am staying away from some of the true color blocks like concretes un-glazed terracottas and wool, not because they won't work well but because they're more obvious choices in some situations. Like of course X block in Magenta will look okay next to magenta glazed that's it's whole thing sfjklsd;f
Anyways thank you for the ask, this one might be one I do a follow up on regardless of if people ask or not :D
Has anyone else had problems getting their Block Palettes password reset?
