Blockquote tutorial (+how to make text on your post smaller)
Tutorial requested by a-new-one
Okay. You're wanting to make an amazing photo edit and you don't want to print the text on the photo, but to add it below the photo and still make the text look pretty, and not as clumsy as tumblr's default setting is? Do you want to make a pretty text post with blockquote?
Here's what you need to do:
Download the photo on tumblr.
(If you're making a text post, jump to step 2)
Write to the text field what ever it is you want to.
Click the HTML button and it should look like this.
Add to the the beginning <blockquote> and to the end </blockquote> (Don't forget the slash)
Now click the HTML button again and it should look like this:
And voilá, you have successfully added blockquote to your post!
Now you just click 'publish' if you think you're ready.
Optional step 4 to make the text smaller
If you want to go even deeper and make the text smaller, it's just as easy:
Add right after <p> and right before </p>
(Those are the exact places and if you have other codes like bolds or italics there and you add the size code between them and the text instead of between the <p> and </p> and the other codes, it won't work.)
Now it should look like this:
If your outcome didn't look like it was supposed to, check your codes through, because it's quite common to make small spelling mistakes that hold the whole thing from working the way you'd want to.
Okay, your post is ready to be published now that you have successfully made it a little prettier!
