As a blogging platform

Tumblr is the worst.

In my "hey, I'm sort of feeling better" moves last night, I tried to make my blog prettier. And got stuck on trying to rename and organize my tags. Which should not be that difficult. 

I've try the "mass post editor" which will not let me select a tag to edit - no, I have to select the last 100 posts or all text posts and then I can delete the tag, but if I try to add a new one, it gets added to all of the posts. I tried making a tag cloud, which now, yay, I can see all of my tags, but I still have to manually click on each post and edit it. 

Any suggestions on how I might accomplish this?
