“Y'know what?”
Tibbo yanks the book from Furlo.
“No. I've had enough of all of this. Whatever thing is messing with us, it's clearly evil! I'm taking matters into my own paws.”
“Tibbo, don't!”
It is far too late. Tibbo lights a match.
“You're scared of me, right? That's why you all avoid me, don't act like it's not true! Well,” It smiles. “good.”
“Tibbo, I don't, I'm not—”
“You? YOU? You have no right to FUCKING TALK to me! Where were you when everyone left me? You were scared of me then, right?”
“You… you cut me off.”
“Shut the fuck up.”
The book goes up in flames. They seem to consume Tibbo as well.
“This won't stop anything.”
“Isn't this a little… extreme?
“Et tu, Blombo? And here I thought you actually liked me.”
“I do, but just… you're not acting yourself.”
“Not acting myself? I'm Tibbo fucking Pinkflame! I'm the rebel, remember? Loyal to none? This is just what I do.”
“Tibbo…”
“I fuck shit up, I burn shit down! I ruin relationships, THIS is my role!”
“Tibs, you're scaring me.”
Tibbo says nothing. Breathes heavily. And runs.

As Blombo and Binbus arrive at Tibbo's house, she closes the door. "Why hello, hello! I'm sure you're wondering why I've gathered you all here today."
"We are wondering, actually—"
"Great! Well, you see, my dear friends, there is something strange in this town. Stranger even than Grilbo."
Tibbo steps closer, grinning.
"And I want you two to help me investigate."
Blombo looks to Binbus for support. "Investigate how?"
"'Investigate how?' You may be asking. For starters, there's something glowing in the tree in Talewave Park, and I know for a fact that none of us put it there. Thing's too tall."
"Wait. Are you saying you want us to climb it? Isn’t that dangerous?"
"Oh please. When has anyone here ever gotten hurt? Plus, Blombo's a doctor. You'll be fine. So, what do you say?"
Of course!
No. Too risky, sorry.

"Blombo! :>"
"Hey Binbus! What's up?"
"Nothing much. You know how it is. "
Blombo nods. "That I do. Anyway, I was just about to go see Tibbo. She wants me for something, won't tell me what. It said that it's fine if I bring somebody along."
"...Okay?"
She smiles. "I'm asking if you want to come."
"Oh!
Well,
of course!"
maybe later. Let me do something else first."

“Okay Grils, why the commotion? And at this hour?”
“I figured out how to translate the book. I mean, I haven't looked at it or anything, but still! I've been writing a key for it.”
“We were planning on looking at it as a group.”
“But how can we see it for all the glow?”
“Oh! It's quite interesting, really, it only seems to glow for some of us. Veevee, Bleepo, and Tibbo. Maybe Furlo? Furlo, does it glow or not for you?”
“I don't believe in binaries. What do we think the book says?”
“Well, I wouldn't know.”
“Let's read it, then!”
“...maybe not at this hour?”
“Seconded.”
“I'm fine either way, though I am curious!”
“So, let's continue this tomorrow, then?”
“Let's.”

"Is this the tree? It looks normal."
"Are there any other trees around, Binbus?"
":("
"I really don't think this is a good idea."
"Does your heart not yearn for knowledge? Anyway, get climbing."
Binbus does, in fact, get climbing. He is not very good at it, but they do eventually reach the top of the tree, and start looking for whatever object Tibbo wants them to see.
But when he adjusts himself...
They see someone through the leaves.
Then, they hear a very unfortunate series of noises.
"Woah–"
followed by a very loud thud,
followed by:
"Holy #?!$!"
followed by:
"How the fuck did you make that noise with your mouth?"
followed by:
"Veevee? You got here first?"
and:
"Oh my god, Veevee, are you alright?"
...
Time to start climbing down.

"Vee, holy fuck!"
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine!"
"So you're sitting there like a depressed balloon for fun?"
"...Yep! That's it exactly."
"Vee..."
"Listen. I'm not injured, I'm just hurt. But, more importantly..."
She gets up and picks a small, glowing journal up off the ground. She presents it to Bleepo.
"I got the goods!"
"Nice? Seriously though, are you okay? That's a pretty nasty fall."
Veevee nods. Enthusiastically. They're so uninjured!
"Veevee, can I PLEASE take a look at your leg—"
"If they say they're not hurt, then let them be. I wanna see what this journal has to say."
Furlo grabs the journal, and begins paging through it, squinting.
"...I can't read any of this. It's not in any language I've seen."
"Can we talk about the fact that most of the damn town decided to investigate this tree at the same exact time? Does anyone else find that weird?"
"I think we have bigger issues, though? Furlo, what's in the journal?"
"It's... gibberish. I can't decode a word of it, and thinking about trying is enough to make my head hurt."
"Can I see?"
"Maybe Grilbo can decode it? If anybody knows about languages, it'd be him."
"We are NOT taking this to Grilbo. That smug little nerd's probably gonna just 'archive' it and we'll never see it again."
"What the hell is your problem with Grilbo? He's actually really sweet."
"Binbus! Decision maker! What should we do?"

What should we do?
Take the Journal to Grilbo.
Do not.
