NYC artist and producer Amanda Steckler sure took her time to release a new single as Blonde Maze. It’s been nearly a year since we last indulged in new music from the pop visionary, but she’s finally returned as of late with a gorgeous and finespun gem named Thunder. Unlike what the stormy song title might suggest, this is a nimble and celestial pop and electronica hybrid with elegant harmonies, breezy marimbas, and refined keys. We’re brought to an island paradise where we find ourselves waxing bittersweet over distant regrets and receding heartbreak alongside Blonde Maze, all the while gazing towards the future through rose colored glasses. The lush aria has reminded people of Lapsley, Maggie Rogers, and The Japanese House. It also sports a dance ready but light and delicate Balearic groove.
