Yield to the Night (also titled Blonde Sinner) is a 1956 crime drama film directed by J. Lee Thompson and starring Diana Dors. The film is based on the 1954 novel of the same name by Joan Henry.

Dors may look exactly like a femme fatale, but this film asks you to buy her as a female version of the hard-luck film noir lead who pisses his life away over a dame (or in this case, an oily nightclub pianist played by Michael Craig). Dors really sells it, despite the basic lack of emotional realism in the set-up. Then in the second half of the film, the whole thing morphs into a story about the slow tyranny of capital punishment.

In Australia, a 19-year-old girl watched this film and killed herself within hours. Also, a screenshot from this film was chosen by Morrissey for the cover of The Smiths' Singles compilation.
