"Thought you've seen the last of me?"
A spirit watched the Avatar train, lurking in the shadows where he stood as a phantom from the past and in a way he actually was. From the first glance you’d think that it’s a man, but don’t let his appearance fool you; he hasn’t been human for more than three years now. Who’s this spirit you ask? Unalaq..
You see, three years ago during Harmonic Convergence when Korra successfully defeated Unavaatu she didn’t exactly kill Unalaq. Well…she did, but his soul was spared by the Spirits. Because of all the good he did for them they gave him another chance in life, making him as one of their own. A spirit.
Trough these three years the spirit has done little things. He spent the most of the time in the Spirit World with his new ‘brothers’ and ‘sisters’, but after a while he had the need to return home. After all there were still people he missed, like his wife. Now don’t be surprised. Unalaq may have been a deplorable man, even a monster, but there was still a bit of humanity inside of him.
His journey has taken him far enough and now it’s time he gives his niece a visit. With firm footsteps the spirit stepped out of the dark. He seemed collected, calm as usual, yet his eyes still signaled of mischief. “Hello Korra.”
Ever since her return from Zaofu, Korra had been training hard. It was her way of making herself feel more prepared for the battles that were yet to come. She refused to loose to Kuvira again, and knew the state of the world didn't have any room left for another loss.
Hello Korra. Korra turned around quickly from her bending to meet the voice that spoke behind her. It took her a while to make out the figure standing there, but soon the familiar voice became obvious to her. "Unalaq...?" She narrowed her eyes to get a better look, it looked like her uncle, but also very different. How was he even alive? "How are you here?"
