Interview yesterday

It’s always been my dream to make home health house visits & guess what the interview was for?? HOUSE VISITS! I was so excited and nervous. When I pulled into the parking lot I had to take an extra second to take a deep breath. The office waiting room smelled like melted jolly rancher candies. When I checked in with the lady at the front desk she gave me a huge stack of papers to file out. (At which point I decided if I didn’t get the job I’d be pissed for the carpel tunnel this amount of paperwork was going to give me when I’m old.) The interviewer, Diane, was SOO sweet. She said she loved working there and her hour drive back and forth to the office so super worth it because she hasn’t had a bad day once. We talked and I didn’t feel like I was being drilled for once in an interview. She saw how qualified I was and that I have more than enough experience for the position I applied for. There WAS something that stuck out though. She asked me how good I was at blood draws. She said “if you could rate yourself on a 1 to 10 where would you be?” I hesitated then finally answered “6″ but what was I supposed to say...? “So Diane listen, I’m a 0. A worthless zero of a nurse″ ..yeah she would’ve sent me on my way crying. There’s so many other patients that DON’T need blood draws! I didn’t want to blow the whole interview by saying “I’ve honestly never even done a blood draw on a real human being before”. :X Ugh, how embarrassing. However, because I didn’t let that word vomit out I got the job! ...Now I just have to make sure I don’t get any blood draw patients....
