Summoning it is easy. Controlling it is another matter.

Topi’s Daily Card #1192: Bloodghast
Bloodghast follows the trend of a black rare or uncommon that often has recursion, perhaps an extra ability or two, and can’t block or ETBs tapped because it can just keep coming back over and over. Gravecrawler, Reassembling Skeleton, and Bloodsoaked Champion are all examples of this archetype, and Bloodghast is probably one of the most powerful. All you need to do is drop a land, no mana cost required. It’s a solid 2/1 and has haste if someones’ on their last legs, but you’re more than likely going to see this guy in EDH as a combo piece. This card plus Perilous Forays and Phyrexian Altar means that you’re going to get every single land with a basic land type onto the battlefield. Add in Sek’kuar as a commander and you’ll have a crazy amount of 3/1 creature tokens as well. Whenever a card can come back for no mana cost, it’ll be used in some combo for sure. Bloodghast can get in some early damage, but where he shines is in those infinite loops, and plenty of them with fun sac outlets and easy landfall triggers.
If an opponent has 10 or less life and I have a Bloodghast in my hand, does it count having haste?
No.
Bloodghast’s ability that grants it haste only functions while it’s on the battlefield.
If I my turn is: attach Skullclamp to Bloodghast, play a Verdant Catacombs, return Bloodghast, attach Skullclamp again, crack the Catacombs for a Swamp, return Bloodghast, attach Skullclamp again, and then play Vile Redeemer and pay the <>, how many Scions do I get? Do I get three because three instances of Bloodghast died (which is my bet), or one because its the same card dying three times? Thanks!
You get three Scions since three different nontoken creatures you controlled died this turn. The fact that they were all represented by the same physical card doesn’t matter.
Could I please get Bloodghast?
Only if a land entered play this turn.
