Both Nerf War and Grimlock feels narrow. I own neither any Transformers nor any Nerf things. how would you respond to people living in a country where those things aren't widely available? The D&D sword at least work regardless of people playing D&D. but the others are going to be pointless to lots of people, demanding that people bring unrelated toys with them or cards won't work is stupid.

They're promotional cards showing up only in a special box. The only one showing up in an actual booster product is the one you admit plays the best in isolation.

this episode is Sana doing good deeds, we'll see her making a positive impact on a lot of lives. It's celebrating Sana. at the same time, it's a farewell to the universe and it's characters. they all deserved a season. everyone does.

I dunno, this clip didn’t feel like a farewell to me. I’m sure it undoubtedly was meant that way, confirming things we’ve always wondered etc but to me it felt like the beginning of a story, not the end. A story we’ll never get to see. And how much real impact can Sana have on Vilde’s situation in one episode? Regardless of her ‘good deed’, I mean, if you can count telling your friend why they’re awesome and that you love them as a good deed... it’s a good deed that I feel would have meant a lot more in person. Seeing these girls communicate in person. We also didn’t see Vilde open up about anything (maybe we will during the week?) and we have no idea how much Sana knows or has guessed etc. We’re just left with more questions than answers in a season full of more questions than answers. 

But I digress, I’m happy that you feel like this clip was a celebration of Sana but it just didn’t read that way for me. If Julie really wanted to celebrate Sana then she shouldn’t have let other characters overshadow her season and given her 10 episodes from her perspective. But I definitely agree, they all deserved a season.

why haven't you made something that reintroduces mana burn yet? it seems such an obvious design.

Mana burn is not as universally missed as you might think. : )

Yousef said she could use this final week of Ramadan to be the best possible Muslim she can be, and I think that's what we're getting now. I'm guessing every clip this episode will feature one of Sana's good deeds. and then the final clip will bring it all together. and yes, telling our friends that they are awesome and that we love them absolutely counts as a good deed. it takes so little effort, and can achieve a lot of good. Unfortunately most of us (myself included) does it way to little.

I dunno, like that’s a nice idea and all. It makes sense but I still would have preferred it being from Sana’s pov because it’s her season. Which I understand might ruin the fact we’re supposed to be see the impact Sana’s ‘good deeds’ have on her friends from their pov but eh. And while telling your friends they’re awesome and loved is important and might be considered a good deed, with the backdrop of what we saw this season and the fact we’re yet to see the girls really discuss any of it from Sana’s pov or resolving it... the texts feel like a hollow victory imo. But I guess there’s still time for them to discuss things in person...? (I feel like that’s all I’ve said this season... ‘WE STILL HAVE TIME’)

When Hour of Devastation hits, will this be the biggest standard format ever?

Nope. Time Spiral Block + Lorwyn Block +Coldsnap was the largest I think. If not something with Fifth Edition in it.

So my opinion about Sana throughout this season is that her core weakness is that she is not good at communicating with her friends and showing vulnerability. She said herself quite memorably that "war starts with misunderstandings" but if you're never explaining what's on your mind then you're bound to get into trouble with misunderstandings for the rest of your life. I hope she'll realize this, because she deserves happiness and good communication is the best way to get it.

I feel like this has been a recurring theme throughout all four seasons. The lesson that if we just open up to people and let them in, things will be better. So I have no doubt that like the others before her, Sana will learn to communicate with those around her, especially her friends. I just hope the ride doesn’t get much rougher on the way there. <3

in your podcast about not designing just to prove you mention it's important to design for your target audience. Would you say that the inclusion of True-Name Nemesis, which is a mediocre multiplayer card but an eternal staple was a mistake in Commander 2013?

Yes, I do believe in retrospect it was a mistake.
