BRIEF BACKGROUNDS
nymeria yronwood is a rather unwilling visitor to king’s landing. her father, lord nymor yronwood the bloodroyal, has continued his ancestors’ tradition of the andal rules of inheritance. thus, despite the fact that nymeria is the eldest of the yronwood children, her duty is to marry and create a strong alliance, as she is considered “unfit” to succeed her father to the position of head of house. this has always been a point of contention between the two, as it is clear to all (both within and without the family) that her younger brother trebor is not exactly suited to follow in their father’s firm and just footprints as lord. she has come to king’s landing with both of them, where her father hopes to find a proper match.
taelysanne stark has decided to accompany her eldest brother edwyn to king’s landing, both for the celebrations and because her poor brother must find a wife despite still deeply loving his late wife. as the only stark daughter, she knows her brother will also be trying to find her a man to be betrothed to despite her resistance, but in the meantime...she is determined to have fun and cause as much (harmless, mostly) chaos.
miłosław gomółka likes to keep his background a secret. for all he’ll tell anyone in king’s landing, he may as well have sprung from the ground in the gardens of the red keep, fully formed and already deep in song. in truth, he was born to a small family deep in some corner of the crownlands, before stealing away the night of his 16th nameday to join a wandering entertainers’ troupe. there, he reinvents himself, finally shedding the suffocating skin of the woman he’d been born as and stepping into his own as a boyish young man with the voice of a songbird and a particular talent for the lute. he made his way to king’s landing, then to the red keep, and now he is the king’s bard. and if he has eyes for a certain daemon targaryen, well...no he doesn’t.

Summary
If ever there was a Dornishman worthy of his countrymen’s reputation for sensuality and indulgence, it’s Trysten Santagar. Though he is a knight and wears the honorific of “ser” proudly, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who would call him a paragon of chivalry as the Faith describes it.
Despite common misconceptions, House Santagar is not truly a lordly house. They are landed knights whose roots in their region of Dorne stretch so far back that their wealth and power exceed those of many actual lordly houses. And though they are technically outranked by houses like the Blackmonts or the Yronwoods, it is easy to forget this fact when faced with the Santagars themselves. They answer only to the Martells of Sunspear and no other lords, and their loyalty to the princes and princesses of Dorne is as fierce as the leopards that emblazon their shields. Their coffers are ever full, and those who live in their lands trust the Knight of Spottswood and his family to protect them faithfully.
The current ruler of House Santagar is Trysten’s older half-sibling, born to the previous Knight of Spottswood, Ser Orryn Santagar, and his first lady wife. After her passing, Ser Orryn remarried to Lady Syrella Blackmont, and through her brought Trysten into the family. Since Dornish customs hold that the eldest child inherits their family’s titles, regardless of gender, Trysten grew up never fearing the weight of leading his house. So from an early age, he threw himself into all the pleasures and adventures that he could find.
This included earning himself a place as the squire of a close friend of his father, the hedge knight Domerick of the Dunes, and eventually a knighthood after winning his first tourney at eighteen years old. And although his blood and name tied him as a knight to his home in Spottswood, Trysten’s time squiring for a hedge knight gave him a taste for travel that was not easily sated.
By his mid-twenties, Trysten was known across Dorne as both a skilled warrior and a prolific lover, a reputation he leaned into with great enthusiasm. Dorne has never had an easy relationship with the Seven Kingdoms to the north, but that hasn’t stopped Trysten fighting their knights and bedding their ladies whenever he can. Not even the Narrow Sea can restrain him—he was chased out of a magister’s manse in Pentos when he was twenty-eight after being discovered entangled with the man’s son and daughter at the same time, and was forced to flee the city.
Despite his lust for life and all its pleasures, Trysten takes being a knight seriously. When called to arms, he is among the first to rally for his liege lords at Sunspear or Spottswood, and among the last to depart for home when the fighting is done. Though quick to fight and quick to carouse, his true friendship is only given to those proven to deserve it, and is even harder to lose. And he’s never turned away a bastard of his without some form of care and love.
Though tensions remain between Dorne and the Seven Kingdoms, Trysten is among those invited to the nameday celebrations for the Targaryen prince and princess. He has no idea as yet the position he’s put their younger sister Aelinor in, and is simply looking forward to a good time filled with wine, wooing, and maybe a fight or two. Ignorance is bliss for now, but it won’t last long.

Elder sibling, head of House Santagar — ( 0 / 1 ) In Dorne, men and women alike can inherit the rule of a house, so it’s equally likely that this is Trysten’s older sister or brother. Only men are knighted, of course, so an older brother would be titled the Knight of Spottswood like all other rulers before him. However, I think it’d be neat as fuck if the ruling lady were such a badass leader/warrior that people called her the Knight of Spottswood anyway, even if she’s not technically a knight. So yeah. :) Also I imagine that they get a long pretty well, especially since Trysten isn’t always home to cause a ruckus.
elder sibling – 40+, any gender, must be at least half-Latino
sibling’s spouse – 30+, any gender, utp (would retain last name)
they have at least 1 child so far, details are up to you!
Other siblings — ( 0 / 5 ) Trysten’s mother died when he was young, and his father was known to take other lovers besides. So in addition to Trysten and his older half-sibling, there are two younger trueborn half-siblings from Ser Orryn’s third wife, and three bastard half-siblings who were recognized and taken in by Trysten’s father.
trueborn sister – 25+, female, must be at least half-Latino
trueborn brother – 20+, male, must be at least half-Latino
bastard sibling #1 – 30+, any gender, must be at least half-Latino
bastard sibling #2 – 20+, any gender, must be at least half-Latino
bastard sibling #3 – 20+, any gender, must be at least half-Latino
Other lovers and rivals — ( 1 / ? ) Trysten is... how should I put it? A proven whore. He’s had lovers of all genders in just about every town and stronghold in Dorne, and quite a few more outside of there, too. In addition to having begat a bastard on Princess Aelinor Targaryen (which is, for now, a secret even to him), and having a bastard daughter with Meria Sand, there’s a good chance he’s got many other little Santagars running around all over Westeros and maybe even Essos. And with that many lovers, ex or otherwise, comes rivals who are less than happy with Trysten’s deeds. I want ‘em all.

Summary
House Piper of the Riverlands has enjoyed a relatively peaceful place in the Seven Kingdoms ever since Aegon’s Conquest. Aegon I benefited from their support against Harren the Black, and Princess Rhaena Targaryen was known to consider Melony Piper among her favorite lovers. The vivacious maid was said to be the only one who could lift the princess’s spirits at the royal coronation, and once even took up mail and spear to lead her lord father’s men against an uprising in the Riverlands, though at the cost of her own life. Between their loyalty, tenacity, and their striking red hair, the Pipers’ words “Brave and Beautiful” are no self-serving lie—they are indisputable truth.
Such is the legacy that Freya was born into, and it’s hard for anyone to sincerely claim that she is neither brave nor beautiful. The problem seems to be more that her definition of “brave and beautiful” does not align with that of the rest of her family.
Ever since she was a small child, Freya has been dubbed “difficult” and “willful” at the best of times, “disobedient” and “wild” at the worst. Her energy has always been boundless and would not permit her to sit still and quiet as befits a highborn lady. The moment her tutors and septas looked away, she would disappear from her lessons, only to return hours later covered in mud and beaming brightly.
Adulthood changed nothing in the slightest—if anything, the harassed pleas, orders, and threats of her parents to grow up and start acting “as befits her station” made Freya more determined to do the opposite. Commands to arrive on time and properly dressed for an important dinner merely led to Lord Piper’s fifth child turning up late with twigs in her long auburn hair and dirt on her face. Forcing her to sit with eligible young suitors as her sisters did would result in either the poor lad being left alone while she climbed out a window, or being chased out of the room as she cursed and swore to take his eyes out.
It must be said that for the most part, Freya does not act out to punish or embarrass their family. It is simply their nature to follow their whims and go where and when they please. Being confined to the life of a highborn noblewoman is a suffocating prospect that they have made it clear they cannot tolerate. While their sisters were more than comfortable with marrying into other families and (as Freya sees it) giving up their own identities to serve a man’s needs, Freya would genuinely rather die than ever allow themself to be conquered and forced to submit in such a way. They have seen the indignities which noblewomen suffer across the Seven Kingdoms, and they simply refuse to be part of it. If only others in their family would understand that and support them...
There is one member of House Piper who understands, at least to some degree, and that is their cousin by their uncle Derrick. But this cousin is a rarity in the Piper family. Lord Mathis Piper is a proud man who, albeit good-hearted and affectionate, does not suffer what he considers to be slights or embarrassments to his house. And Lady Winfrey has always taken her reputation far more seriously than Freya considers healthy. To the ruling lord and lady, Freya’s refusal to act as a young lady should is a blight upon their house, and a threat to their reputation. If a ruling lord cannot control his own child, how can he expect to control his vassals and knights? How can other lords respect him?
And while this conflict started innocently enough in Freya’s youth, it has only worsened and soured with time. At twenty-seven years old, Freya’s rejection of every suitor presented to her by her parents is beginning to take a toll on the Pipers’ relationships with other houses around them. It’s to the point that Lord Piper had to start searching elsewhere in the Seven Kingdoms for matches, as no riverland lords were willing to entertain the notion of bringing Freya into their families. Her own family cannot control her, so what chance would they stand? At this point, Freya has become a blight on House Piper’s reputation, and while some are urging her parents to send her to the silent sisters and have done with it, Lord Piper is determined that Freya will serve their family’s needs in some way or another.
After a particularly nasty clash between Freya and a prospective suitor from the westerlands (everyone lived but a knife was involved and the rumors are absolutely salacious), Lord and Lady Piper have gone nuclear. It’s been declared that Freya will wed the current heir to House Whytewater, an announcement that has stoked no shortage of gossip and interest. House Whytewater—a literal bastard offshoot of House Targaryen, established less than 50 years ago, whose members are held in a curious combination of begrudging respect and jealous contempt. The heir to the house, in particular, has made a name for himself as a ferocious knight who’s shown no mercy to any foe he’s faced, be they pirates, Dornishmen, or rivals sneering at his lineage.
It’s the perfect match, as far as Lord Piper is concerned, and one which the lord of House Whytewater agreed to with little protest. Lord Mathis gets to rid himself of his uncontrollable child while still securing an alliance that is beneficial to his house, since the Whytewaters are quite close to the royal Targaryens. The Whytewaters benefit from having a prominent family of the riverlands on their side, something they need as their legitimacy is still often questioned by potential rivals. And Freya will be thrust upon a husband who, if his reputation is to be believed, will be more than capable of cowing her into place at last.
With this match and a wedding looming ahead of them, Freya is ecstatic to be attending the nameday tourney in King’s Landing. The young noble stands a much higher chance of finding a way to wriggle out of this arrangement in the capital than they do at home. Since the plan is for Freya and their betrothed to meet in person at last, maybe they can use their usual tactics to “convince” the Whytewater heir to abandon this engagement. Whatever it takes to maintain their freedom.

Her betrothed, the heir of House Whytewater — ( 0 / 1 ) Right out the gate, I’m heart-eyeing this wc because I would love to see Freya and her betrothed end up actually getting along really well. Not without conflict, of course—we need those juicy relationship growing pains. But these two underdogs coming together to become a power couple that defies everyone’s expectations would be the highlight of my life, so lmk if you’re interested 🥺

Her cousin / bff — ( 0 / 1 ) Freya’s cousin is effectively the only true friend they have had since childhood, outside of secret or discouraged friendships with children of the Pipers’ servants. Their cousin, at least, seems to get that Freya simply wants to be treated with the same respect and freedom that their brothers and other men are given. And that has allowed Freya to rely on their cousin as a trusted confidant and ally for decades. They need their bff now more than ever, since their parents are going ahead with this arranged marriage to some crownlands stranger.

Any other family members — ( 0 / 9 ) House Piper is biiiiiiig, okay? Lord and Lady Piper have 7 kids, of which Freya is the 5th eldest. She has 2 older brothers (oldest is heir to the house), 2 older sisters (both married into other noble houses), and a younger brother and sister. Family get-togethers are chaotic at best, and their whole dynamic is complicated and messy. For all that Freya is a pain in everyone’s asses, the Pipers do love one another. They just... collectively wish Freya would just do as she’s told instead of being contrary. Anyway, family and sibling dynamics are chefskiss.jpg so gimme. The westerlands lordling Freya recently offended... and his family — ( 0 / ? ) Sometime within the last year, Freya’s father invited a well-known family from the westerlands to stay at Pinkmaiden with the intention of getting one of their sons and Freya to meet, get along, and maybe get engaged. This ended up making a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move. Only Freya and the lordling know exactly what went down between them, but the upshot was that Freya felt compelled to draw a knife on him and actually drew blood. Everyone who saw the aftermath could see that the two young nobles despised each other and they were quickly separated, after which the visiting family left with equal haste. Though Freya is now engaged to someone else, who knows what would happen if these two met again?

Summary
Everyone in the realm knows about the unusual circumstances of the Targaryen prince and princess’s births. Born to twin queens at the same second of the same hour of the same day, Daemon and Daenys have been watched with unending scrutiny their entire lives. Not merely for their royal blood, but for the threat they pose to Westeros’s customs of succession. Some believe there is no threat; that Daemon, as a male heir, is the only possible heir of the two, and the matter is quite settled. Still, they watch with an uneasy confidence, thanks to the mutterings of those who believe Daemon’s claim is threatened by a sister who is neither his senior nor junior.
In youth, these fears and expectations didn’t even register to Daemon. He was a prince of the royal house of Targaryen, and he had more pressing things to deal with. He had lessons in weaponry, warfare, history, law, politics, culture, language, and more to occupy him. And at nearly every one of those lessons, he and Daenys sat side-by-side, learning together, playing together, teasing together, and helping each other as siblings should. She was his closest friend and confidant, and he trusted her more than anyone else in his life.
It was only as they approached their teen years that Daemon became more aware of the whispers and tension that he and Daenys drew. In his opinion, it was stupid. He was the male heir, and Daenys was his sister. They loved each other. Why should she ever be a threat to him or the realm? And really, even if something happened to him, Daenys would make a great queen. Why were they so worried about the mere possibility that she’d take the throne from him? It didn’t make sense to him.
Maybe he was blinded by familial love for his almost-twin, but to this day, Daemon puts no stock in anyone who believes that Daenys is a threat to his eventual place on the Iron Throne. Firstly, he doesn’t believe that she even harbors such ambitions. If she did, surely she would have told him by now. They’re basically twins, after all, and he considers them close in a way even normal siblings can’t comprehend.
Secondly, though, Daemon has complete and utter confidence in his own abilities. Plenty would call him arrogant, and sometimes they’d be right. He’s a formidable knight who has proven himself time and again in tourneys since he was a teenager. He may lack Daenys’s tact and diplomacy, but he makes up for it in the sheer amount of heart he’s willing to put into things he believes in.
And anyone who doubts his skill or bravery need only look to his dragon. Vhagar is the oldest and largest living dragon, first ridden by Visenya Targaryen and riderless since the dowager queen’s death. Only Daemon had the balls and the confidence to bond with the mighty bronze beast, and their loyalty to one another is absolute. Anyone who stands in Daemon’s way does so at the risk of finding Vhagar right behind him.
So as far as Daemon is concerned, anyone foolish enough to question his place or doubt his sister’s loyalty is little better than dung on the side of the road. And he’s not afraid to tell them as much to their faces.
As their joint 35th nameday approaches, a very different sort of cloud has begun to dog the prince’s footsteps. Pleased as he is to celebrate himself and his sister, and to see their younger sibling Aelinor again after a long absence, he is less happy with the pressure that is mounting all around him to marry. Up to now, Daemon has been able to stave off marriage through busying himself with diplomacy (always difficult for him) or with pushing back Dornish incursions (much more his speed).
But as the king ages, and the Iron Throne looms closer to Daemon’s present, he finds virtually everyone around him from his parents to his friends are solely concerned with who will help him ensure the continuation of his line. And it’s no secret that the king and queens are all hoping Daemon will use this tourney to select an appropriate wife, before they are forced to choose for him.
For a man who values his freedom as much as Daemon, the prospect of marriage is a cage he despises and is ready to fight however he can. Even if it means ignoring other potential threats...

Lovers — ( 0 / ? ) Daemon isn’t as much of a hound dog as Trysten, but he gets around a fair amount. Pretty lords and ladies in King’s Landing usually find themselves the subject of Daemon’s interest at some point, as do any other comely faces he spots outside the nobility. So it would make sense that Daemon has a lot of past lovers with whom he has a variety of current relationships. Pleasant, unpleasant, recurring or finished for good, all would make for some great interactions.
Best buds — ( 0 / 10-ish ) Daemon is also known to have a sort of gaggle of lordlings and knights with whom he is, in modern parlance, “bros”. Anywhere from 4 to 10 young guys from a variety of houses and knightly backgrounds who accompany the prince out drinking and carousing, and who he trusts a lot. Some might even count as his best friends, outside of his sisters.
Enemies — ( 0 / ? ) In case you haven’t noticed, Daemon is nothing if not confident, even downright arrogant at times. He’s got a blunt tongue and no fear of speaking his mind. So it makes sense that he’s made more than a few enemies in his life so far. Maybe they go all the way back to a childhood rivalry? Maybe they’re fairly recent? I’m up for anything here.
( medalion rahimi, cis woman, she/her, 30. ) welcome to king’s landing, [ bellara dondarrion née antarios ], [ lady ] of house [ dondarrion ]. rumor has it that you are [ ambitious ] but are also [ charming ] from time to time. when it comes to succession, you support [ other: whoever helps her new house attain the most power ].
Bellara is a younger child of the current Sealord of Braavos. A clever man with deep pockets and more than enough children to fill them, he has hung on to his lifetime appointment through carefully calculated alliances with those around him. His First Sword is loyal to a fault; his coffers can make even the most reluctant magisters bend to his designs; and his plethora of offspring are excellent bargaining chips to bind others to him through marriage.
Because of this, Bellara grew up knowing that her lot in life was to serve her father’s needs politically, and this prospect alone was not one that she hated or defied. What rankled was the utter lack of attention and affection she received from the moment she was born. The Sealord had so many children already, and would undoubtedly have more, so Bellara was in essence simply a name added to a list of his assets. She was forced by circumstance to compete with all her siblings for any scrap of attention from their father, for gaining his notice and favor would at least ensure that she was married off to someone tolerable, or even likeable. Failing to do so would result in... well, just ask her sister Idarra how her marriage to a man 50 years older than her is going.
Though Bellara was able to make an impression eventually, it was not quite the one she’d hoped for. She trained in the Braavosi fighting style of water dancing, and became a shrewd businesswoman through observing her father at work. All the Sealord saw, however, was a quiet girl who was too reserved to control whoever she married and too independent to be controlled herself. As such, when the time finally came to marry her off about 12 years ago, the Sealord chose not to marry her within Essos, but rather sent her to House Dondarrion across the sea in Westeros.
Though she knew some of Westerosi culture and history, this was not at all what she’d expected, and Bellara knew that this was her father’s way of showing how little he valued her. He didn’t expect much of her, and saw no use for her in his own plans—let some foreigner take her and make a mother of her, if it so pleased him. Sending her across the ocean to a part of the realm that Braavos had virtually no ties to was a slap in the face after all the work she’d put in to gain her father’s approval.
So, in her own quiet manner, Bellara decided to prove the Sealord wrong. Her husband, thankfully, is not a hard man to get along with, and he’s given her two children whom she adores. In fact, it could easily be said that Bellara is quite devoted to him, given the lengths she’s willing to go to in order to advance her husband and her house.
You see, House Dondarrion was a simple marcher house until Bellara wed into it. After that, the family saw a slow but steady increase in their fortunes which some find miraculous, and others find suspicious. Though seemingly a tragedy, the decline and death of the previous Lord of Blackhaven within a year of her arrival turned out to be a boon, as he was a frivolous man who spent money unwisely and did as little as possible to protect the people in his lands. Though the current Lord Dondarrion is no financial genius, his reign has come with a marked increase in the house’s wealth, which in turn has meant a period of prosperity for all in his domain.
Most are happy with this turn of events, but others have noticed that this good fortune has also come with a steady trail of bodies to match. No ill intent or foul play has been uncovered, but it is strange how anyone the Lady Dondarrion seems to dislike or see as a threat either leaves without a trace or dies within a year. Maybe it’s the will of the gods? Maybe there’s something else at play. Bellara certainly dismisses such talk as jealous gossip, even as she hides a smile in her wine glass.

Ruling Lord of House Dondarrion / husband — ( 0 / 1 ) Bellara married the eldest son of the previous Lord Dondarrion 12 years ago, when he was still only the heir to his house. Within a year of her arrival, his father’s health began to fail and he eventually passed, and his seat and title passed to her husband. Together, they have a 12-year-old daughter named Briony and an 8-year-old son named Robin. To all who observe them, they appear to be a typically loving and devoted couple, and Bellara certainly does harbor some kind of love for her husband—though whether their relationship is truly romantic or more platonic is up to you! Spies and trusted allies — ( 0 / ? ) So yeah, Bellara is kind of Lady Macbeth-ing for her husband, happily taking out those she feels are a threat to her house-by-marriage. She’s not afraid of getting her hands a little dirty to keep House Dondarrion on top of its game, but doing so with such secrecy and success means she needs people who are in the know and on her side. Who can report on the comings and goings that she’s not privy to, conversations she can’t hear, and deals in the works that she doesn’t like. And now that House Dondarrion is flourishing in the Stormlands, her goals are expanding accordingly. She needs allies outside of her house as well—after all, how can House Dondarrion rise to the forefront of Westerosi politics if they don’t know what other houses are up to?
it’s your girl giulia back with a 3rd character (and the last one i promise!). got me some messy children so why not add a trash dad to the mix? if you want to read a bit about him just follow the read more!
i present you alexander miller, 40yo, self-made multimillionaire, family man, workaholic extraordinary, and all around trash!
he had a fairly easy and uneventful middle-class upbringing with two loving parents, adn without many worried, but that changed when he got his high school sweetheart pregnant;
at first he tried to do the right thing and stick around, but he was young and had his whole life ahead and this premature family life made him feel trapped and as if he was wasting his life;
as it turns out he had been accepted at mit, which had always been his dream and what he knew he needed to do to achieve the success he wanted so much. one day he just up and left, moving to boston to pursue his dream and leaving his son and girlfriend behind;
alexander went on with his life, and got everything he wanted tbh. he co-founded this huge technology company that turned into this multinational corporation; fell in love, got married and started a family;
in his defense, he didn’t completely forget about the son he left behind. often he would stop and think about him, especially after his younger kids were born;
and he went on to hire a pi to find him and his mother and keep an eye on them so he would know if they ever needed money or something like that, but he couldn’t tell his wife about that ofc;
it’s not that he doesn’t care about them, but so much time has passed and he doesn’t want to risk ruining his family. so he hasn’t reached out to them, and isn’t sure how he feels now that they’ve done it;
so that’s where we are rn, and after all that history lesson, let me tell a bit about alexander’s personality!
alexander has all the qualities that make a good businessman, he’s driven, persistent, tenacious, passionate and a visionary. but he also has the flaws that come with it;
he’s a workaholic and spends a lot of time working. he knows what he wants and he won’t settle for any less, which really makes him a little obsessive;
he is super smart, and he just expects everyone to be on the same level as him and can be very condescending;
his label is ‘the opulent’ and, believe me, he enjoys the good things in life. he has an expensive taste, and now that he has the money to spend as he sees fit he will do that. he loves spending time with his family too;
his family has to be the most important thing in his life (his company is second lol), and he would do anything for them;
he tries to be a good dad to his kids, but a lot of times he just fails? he is so focused on his professional success that sometimes he comes up short as a father. what can you do??
this is a mess, but things will get more organized as i start playing him. hopefully.
i’m gonna be honest here, guys, i am the worst at intros and whatnot, but i’m gonna try my bets for you lovely lot. i’m giulia (she/her), and i’m 19 and living that college student life. i absolutely love family rps and i’m super exicted to bring bodhi here!
tw: drug abuse, child neglect, child abuse, overdose, death
bodhi here is sixteen (almost seventeen), and his parents had no business putting a child in the world tbh. his dad was a drug dealer and his mom his best client just a true mess;
the first time he was taken away from home he was five and a neighbor filled a report of child abuse and neglect, but 7 months later he was reunited with his parents. and that wasn’t the only time it happened;
when he was seven he found his mother after she overdosed on heroin. he used to have nightmares about it, but those have gotten very rare;
for then on he was in and out (mostly in ) of foster care until his dad had his parental rights officially terminated when bodhi was seven after his dad was convicted for manslaughter;
he will say he has lost count of how many foster homes he has been through but that’s a lie. he knows them all and his personal record in one place was fifteen months;
he has been with the williams for close to a year, and he’s doing his best to stay out of trouble because he knows he’ll get back to a group home if he screws up and he doesn’t want to deal with that;
he doesn’t have any big plans for his future, and because he knows college is most certainly not a possibiity for him, he doesn’t give school as much attention as he should. he’s just a lot of wasted potential tbh;
it’s sort of a protection tbh, if he doesn’t try then he won’t have to deal with the failure that will undoubtedly happen. the kid just has no confidence in himself;
he is a pro at self-depreciating himself, but he only does it as a ‘joke’ so people don’t really think there’s anything wrong with his self-esteem;
his label is ‘the opaque (unable to be figured out; hiding behind a facade; not transparent.). he has learned that giving too much of himself away is not a good idea so he’s become a pro at hiding his true feelings and thoughts and just showing what he wants people to see;
you will rarely see the sad and hurt part of him, he keeps that just for himself and will give everyone else smiles and jokes. it’s easier that way, even if he has to fake the happiness sometimes;
he is opinionated and outspoken, but when it comes to personal stuff he is very reserved and doesn’t like sharing. and although he is friendly enough, not many of his relationships are too deep;
growing up he was never at the same place for too long or had the same friends for more than a few months, and that’s what he has come to expect. it made him very wary of deeper connections and attachments;
it made him very resourceful and independent, but it also gave him his fair share of trust issues. he doesn’t know how to ask for help and doesn’t like to do it. it’s all very ‘you can only truly count on yourself’ with him;
he has been through a lot growing up and has plenty of both physical and psychological scars, but he’s not complaining or walking around hating the world (even if he does think it sucks most of the time). he’s just trying to do the best with the hand he has been dealt;
he loves drawing and sketching, and he’s quite good at it. he has always used it as a way to deal with everything around him. when he’s drawing that’s his world and he gets to decide exactly what happens and make it just the way he wants;
he also likes to go around town doing graffiti and has gotten in trouble for it before;
he likes all the usual things -- parties, drinking, video games, food --, though he’s not a big fan of drugs and will only smoke weed at most. he is a good kid, but sometimes trouble just finds him (i guess??);
his secret is that he’s been forced to pay for this debt his father made with some really bad people. he hasn’t seen the guy in like a decade but he got this call and was all WTF?? he would have ignored it if he wasn’t 1- scared af of the man, and 2- 97% sure these people would come after the williams family if he doesn’t fix his father’s mess, and he can’t do that to them;
so now this kid is out there having to sell drugs for these people to pay them. obviously, he hasn’t told anyone and is just trying to deal with it all and keep it a secret;
this got way too long and i probably made no sense, but come plot? hmu on im or like this and i shall go to you! ---- also, i wasn’t sure about the tw? so if i missed something lmk!
TLDR; he spent most of his life in foster care, is a little broken and a little lost but doing his best and keeping a smile on his face. afraid of letting people get too close but also has a big heart. people should just let this child live tbh
and here’s the last one!! if ya wanna officially meet little sunshine serena, keep reading :~)
so, to be completely honest, serena’s inspired a little bit by fiona from shameless, and her dynamic with her siblings. i really like the concept of deadbeat parents coming back into their children’s lives and kinda fucking things up ig??
basically, ren, born serena ryan, grew up in fort lauderdale with her parents and younger sibling who was quite a bit younger than her.
her parents got divorced when she was fifteen, her mom leaving the family in the dust for a rich man she’d been having an affair with
ren was destroyed by this, because she’d been super close with both her parents, so it sucked to see her mom leave and it sucked to see her dad destroyed
this is when ren stepped tf up and basically became mini mom. papa ryan was always working and someone need to keep an eye on little ryan #1 and little ryan #2, who were very young when mama ryan left
she went through a bit of a wild child phase during her early college years, which is when she met her bf, who we’ll call nick. they were together until she was twenty six and moved to san diego WHICH is where her secret comes in, but we’ll get to that later
papa ryan died from a very aggressive cancer when ren was twenty two.
originally, little ryan was gonna go live with mama ryan and the new hubby, BUT. ren wasn’t about to let that happen, and honestly mama ryan had decided when she left that she didn’t want kids. she didn’t contact them, she wanted nothing to do with them, so when she found out papa ryan died and that ren wanted custody of her siblings, she signed away all parental rights and gave ren full custody. ren also got her shit together and quite heavy drinking and partying and all that bc now she was a mama!! legally, at least, these kids were counting on her
abuse tw so, ren’s secret is that her ex bf that she met in college was supremely abusive, mostly emotionally abusive, lots of gaslighting and putting her down and making her feel insignificant, so that whenever he was physically abusive, she felt like she deserved it completely. they had a kid together, max, who is now three and the actual love of ren’s life, and that was part of why she stayed because she wasn’t sure she could really raise a kid on her own, because she’d had her dad’s support with her siblings. but after being with him for about seven years, he went on a vacation with his “family”, aka his side chick and ren found out and something in her snapped, because she realized she didn’t want her siblings or her son around him at all, so while he was gone, she packed up her shit, packed up her kids, and bailed. she basically drove non-stop cross country from florida to san diego bc she didn’t wanna stop at all!!
this is why she’s not serena ryan anymore, bc now they’re hiding!!
so now they’ve been in town for about a year, and ren owns a bakery ( mainly a cupcakery but ya girl will dabble and takes specialty orders for cakes ) and it totally specializes in those cutely decorated cupcakes like shit you’d find on tastemade. every different cupcake is named after something max and the siblings said/like ( like think lulu’s pie song from waitress ) bc she loves having them involved and the bakery totally only has a couple people working there bc she wanted a tight-knit crew and runs most of it herself tbqh
uh,,,, she’s basically a big ole mama bear?? loves her kids?? that quote that’s like “i won’t give you the moon but i’ll help you build a spaceship” is literally ren, like she’ll support them no matter what and will always!! have their backs!!
she goes by ren bc ppl always pronounced her name like serena’s from gossip girl and her parents always pronounced it like sirehna and she hated when people said it wrong??
and i guess?? that’s it?? if ya wanna plot with her or nat or andy hmu/like this bc i’m ,,,,, always down
