The sun had long since set when Felix was on his way back home, the blond playing music in the car while he drove and tried not to fall asleep. He wasn’t really tired, but driving home by himself was a bit boring since he had no one to talk to. Still, he hadn’t wanted to stay the night with the girl he’d slept with. It risked giving her the wrong impression, and he didn’t want her to start thinking they were going to start dating. There was nothing wrong with dating either, but after too many failed relationships and people walking out on him, he was mentally and emotionally exhausted and thought it was best to put it off for now. It would take someone special for him to start up that shit again.
It was nearing midnight when the headlights of his car illuminated a figure walking ahead down the sidewalk. It was a girl, made obvious by her frame and size, but as he got closer he realized that he recognized who it was. It was Shiloh, who he hadn’t seen for about three or so weeks after they’d visited the shelter together. Bringing his car to a stop just a few feet in front of her, Felix rolled down his window to speak to her.
“Yo, Shiloh, you wanna ride?” Felix asked, turning a little in his seat and poking his head out of the window so Shiloh could see who was talking to her--if the shitty car he drove hadn’t given it away already. Next time, maybe he would take his motorcycle instead. He’d finished up with it about a week ago and had taken it out a few times already. It was way more fun, unless he was unlucky enough to get caught in the rain. “No weird shit or strings attached. It’s just a little dangerous for you to be walking by yourself, y’know? There’s a lot of freaks roaming the streets at this hour.”
