An Exit // Bloom
Okay it may be that a new band obsession just ✨bloomed✨ for me lmao
I wasn't *super* into Bloom (AUS) to begin with but shows turning to all religious themes in second or subsequent seasons are just cheap... Like a small side storyline but the entire show? It's ridiculous.
In addition in this issue this elder molester has a huge role, he kills the woman he abused in season one after she got some revenge on him in season one... Yet, the priest in season two is like yea that's fine, instead of doing anything about it. Although that checks out for Catholics (not doing anything when they should). And even though I enjoy seeing Toby Schmitz (he's the priest) the change of the entire show into wide ranging scientific testing and religious themes...not to mention the changed rules for the blooms. It's just dumb as hell.
Australian scifi shows in the first season tend to be centered in a small area and are usually subdued and somber. Then for some reason in the second season they wildly broaden the scope bringing a city with a very different vibe and the scifi aspect of it goes worldwide or at least aussie-wide. Bloom had a good vibe season one and very nearly wrapped up the storylines, they didn't even need a season two but they did and drastically changed the vibe of the show, they aren't even showing *any* of the small town it was initially centered on. It's such a weird formula that multiple Australian scifi shows have follow.
