fankids appreciation, day seven; family dynamics

agnes malinda and ethel malinda ethel is the firstborn child of agnes malinda and jacob macmillan. she has a complicated relationship with her family but her parents love her very much and are proud of her achievements. henry of alderly and edward of alderly edward is the firstborn child and only son of henry and cora, the duke and duchess of alderly. edward often disagrees with his father and doesn't understand him. edward of alderly and frederica "freddy" of alderly freddy is the oldest child of edward of alderly and jocelyn somerset. she is close with her father and the two share a similar sense of humour. anora brindlemore and bloom brindlemore bloom is the older of anora's two children. they have a troubled relationship and bloom dislikes having her mother as his professor at hogwarts. anora is protective of her children and bloom finds it stifling. verna malinda and rowan "roe" malinda roe is the only child of verna malinda and merula snyde. they are close with their parents, even though he gets in trouble and causes headaches for her mums.

magic awakened technically has a dada professor but since i happen to need a little bit more than a mysterious hooded figure, i decided to hijack the game’s professor brindlemore and make her sort of an oc. if the game decides to do something with her and this backfires, then i guess she is her sister or something...

i don't know much about him yet, except that he was born in 1995, he's a slytherin, plays quidditch, and has a complicated relationship with his mum. he definitely has the quidditch star/jock energy going for him, and i feel like he'd probably be perceived mainly like that. he probably hates being associated with his mum at school so he does his best to distance himself from her and acts out, especially as a younger teen. i think he's under a lot of pressure but he doesn't really talk about it or show it. i'm thinking kind of how barb is under a lot of pressure but has a very different way of handling it. for example, she doesn't punch her way out of situations or have such issues with her identity. but yeah, he's very wip, and his relationship to his sister twyla ( @potionboy3 ) is a mystery.

leda;

she's not, strictly speaking, very nice, but she has a very different kindness and gentleness to her than either of her brothers. which is in interesting contrast to the fact that she's definitely the toughest out of all of her immediate family. not in a girlboss-kick-your-ass-kind of way necessarily (she's a pretty good dueller but not worldclass or anything) but more importantly, i think she's very self-sufficient and has an inner strenghth that someone like ari definitely lacks (boy's a mess who never learned to deal with a single emotion ever). but she's also very lonely and probably unwilling to admit that (ala jo's WOMEN-monologue in little women 2019)

at this rate she'll get upgraded to a main character soon enough.
