The job had been straightforward. After some research, she made quick call to security posing as a panicked new hire who forgot their car keys in the office and couldn’t remember the afterhours door code. After some negotiation on details Sen7inel was in — roaming through the empty floor, hood up, phone out — hunting down a specific target: a VP who had been supposedly trading insider secrets with a competitor.
B o r i n g . She would have much rather been working on setting up her own operation — but that needed cash, and cash was in short supply.
The Coyote found the door, the VPs name on a plaque: Richard Coleman, VP of Strategy. Gray eyes rolled. For a strategy guy, his strategy was shit. Testing the door, the handle didn’t budge — locked.
In a single smooth motion, Sen7inel pulled her pack around to her front, fishing a set of well used lockpicks out of a side pocket and got to work. In the dead quiet of the office, the faint scraping of picks against pins could be heard. That and...
— Wait was that a footstep?
The hacker paused, not daring to move a muscle. Fuck, the next security rotation wasn't supposed to be for another hour. Or had she lost track?
After a moment of deliberation, she tucked the picks away quickly. The situation could only be made worse if she was caught red-handed.
"Hello?" Sen7inel called out into the quiet, eyes peering around the desks, looking for movement.
