Yesterday, more sunny miles.

I downloaded an interval timer. I tested it out at my desk and it was LOUD. Then I started my run - it doesn’t play over music. So I turned it off and ran song intervals (run a song/walk a song) for 3.1 miles. “A song” is of course a really inconsistent interval, and for the most part too long on the walking side, but I did manage to take 2:20 off my last 5K on the same route so I’ve got that going for me, which is nice. I’ll look for another, better interval timer later...

Thoughts on a windy Wednesday afternoon interval run. Tagging @fatmaninalittlesuit because he’s also trying out intervals and expressed interest in hearing how it’s going.
Definitely a fan of intervals. Definitely not sure if 45/30 are the right intervals. But I’m able to stay out there longer without being as frustrated, so I’ll keep playing with the times and take it from there.
Much as I’m loving the intervals, I don’t know if they’ll work for Bloomsday on Sunday. The course may just be too hilly to run even 45 seconds at a time in some place. But I may set them anyway and just ignore them when I have to.
I think I need new shoes. I knew this was coming, these are almost a year old, but four days before my longest (and likely only) road race of the year isn’t really the best time to come to this realization. Hopefully with the right socks and enough KT tape, my feet won’t notice?
One of my favorite pairs of running pants died. This would be annoying at any time, but I need four pairs of comfy, race worthy leggings for next weekend’s Ragnar (one for each leg and an extra in case one ends up not being as comfy as I expected, and at least one will) and with these out I’ve only got one in mind.
I can’t wait till it’s summer and I can jump in the creek to cool down after I run!
Morning workout, 25 minutes on the faster elliptical (the one that goes back and forth and - kinda sorta - emulates running), 3.78 miles. Plus I got lucky and was leaving the gym at the same time as my dad, so I got a ride home and got to avoid a little bit of the rain. (It’s supposed to be “light” rain, but I own three rain jackets and between walking the dog, going to the gym, and coming to work, all three are currently completely soaked.)

When it’s sunny, we run.

Little over a mile of 45/30 intervals, most of which felt pretty good. And it was the fastest mile I’ve done in a while. Can I sustain that for 7.43 miles? I guess we’ll see next weekend...

I needed KT Tape real bad, tomorrow’s run is gonna be a million times better than today’s.
Two miles at lunch today, yoga after work. 13 days till Bloomsday and this is the first run in a while that made me think maybe my goal of beating last year’s time actually could happen.

You know those people who say they never regret a run? Yeah, those people are full of shit. It was way too cold and too windy out for this and I shouldn’t have done it. But I was already outside when I realized that and I wanted to try out a new headphone/phone holding combination to see if it’ll work for Ragnar (it won’t). So I did a mile, and I couldn’t feel my face or my hands by the time I was done...
