they’ve found their way up above the crowds, elevated a few levels to get just the perfect view of the flashing lights and really feeling the way the ground shook from the bangs. and he’s shaking a little, too -- but it’s not like he could chalk it up to the fireworks filling the sky; he’s used to explosions. no, this was a shaking he was entirely unfamiliar with. something that had gripped him from just behind his ribcage and flooded his gut with what felt like flipping, rollercoaster static.
