Pokémania
Few months ago, I published a video on the game Pokémon Ecarlate. It was in a format that I find appealing, similar to my Legend Arceus series - a best-of humoristic series.
This kind of format is something I'd like to do more often on Pokémon games.
To Pokémon Violet/Ecarlate I admit it for me, there are many reasons to have some difficulty to simply walking around in the game, everyone has already explained anywhere in internet what needs to be addressed with these games. I will add that the adventure remained attractive but the content itself as well as technical defects affects its gameplay a lot (except DLC).
Legends Arceus was attractive as it offered some fantasies none other games from the Pokémon franchise provided, not in mention that wildlife tries to eliminate you.
But personally, like most people who are described as "nostalgic" I guess, it is difficult to return to this "magic". I mean, I played a lot with great passion. (I'm talking about more 500 hours on a cartridge)
So I went back to the past and I played Pokémon X, Ultra Soleil, Saphir Alpha... - games I had not played because I could not afford a 3DS at that time. It reminded me that the games were still complete but less ... Bugged out.
And I stupidly did the adventure of each game and I had fun doing this:
Yes, his little one did a contest from Saphir Alpha, some contests on Diamond Brilliant, and...
(In progress)
Recently, I made the mistake to trying out the shiny hunting with Pokéradar on Diamond Brilliant, and I was forced to admit that there was an addictive side even though I found nothing cause multiple broken chains. Retrying as if I played lottery again and again, except that we always end up winning something in the long run despite the hours lost.
I understand better this enthusiasm for this exercise, but it will remain very occasional. I prefer finding shinys randomly, especially in Legends Arceus. =p
I might try my hand at more seriously-minded romhacks/fangames in the future. Even though I've been mostly enjoying PokéWilds with expectations of a forthcoming big update, and I tested Emmerald Rogue which witch was a pretty good game, these games allow playing pokémon without necessarily getting bogged down by an entire story and provide unique experiences.
So, for a change I recently played a pokémon fangame, unlike the usual romhacks this one literally offers a Minecraft/Terraria like adventur
So, what do you prefer: Vanilla play, creating your own challenges, playing creations from communities or something else?
