((anyone telling him that he has anything good/desirable/redeemable about himself. as is frequently noted, he hates himself with a vigilance that goes beyond self-loathing and straight into a rock-solid, unquestioning certainty. there's nothing good about him and anyone who tries to tell him otherwise is lying through their teeth or sorely deluded... or at least so he thinks. objectively speaking, from my standpoint, he is pretty damn near irredeemable, but he does have certain qualities.

he also struggles with the idea that his "condition" may indeed be irreversible, as beneath all of his displays about violence and destroying everything, that remains and always has been his singular driving motivation: he only wants to be happy again. he acts like he's resolved himself to it, but he still holds some shred of denial that something can be done about it. if he were to ever have it irrevocably proven to him that he was well and truly doomed to his fate forever, the results would be... bad. worse than they are already.))
