Why Ichigo Was the Only One to Transform Into Her Infused Animal?

~ SPOILER ALERT ! ~ Some spoilers are ahead.

The title is super long but oh well. So the real reason is that this is because Ichigo is the main protagonist, but I’m not satisfied with that. So let’s dig a bit.

I’m going to base this only on the Anime because I find it easier to explain and proof with things that are shown in it, also I haven’t read the Manga yet so I couldn’t be 100% sure that everything I say is accurate.

So the Mew Aqua first appeared in episode 13, when Ichigo used it to boost up her energy so she could defeat Quiche’s chimera animal. She activated it by holding Masaya’s hand and later on, it is explained that Masaya had the strongest type of Mew Aqua, the True Mew Aqua, inside of his body, which means the Mew Aqua Ichigo used didn’t appear out of nowhere. We also know that the Mew Aqua can trigger a transformation of some kind to the Mew Mews, first in episode 19 when Retasu transformed into a mermaid and later on, on a smaller scale, after the main 4 (everyone minus Ichigo) used all their energy and couldn’t transform into their Mew Mew form and Ryou gave them the little bit he had so they could successfully transform (episode 50) .

Now, notice how Ichigo transformed into a cat the first time after she kissed Masaya, see the connection? It didn’t happen previously when Quiche kissed her, but after that one kiss with Masaya, every kiss became a trigger. Ichigo is also the only Mew Mew that shows any other side effects such as the cat ears and tail that occasionally pop up when she is emotional, It is possible for other Mews to have such side effects as well (as we saw it happen to Bu-ling in episode 7) so why only Ichigo? Well, she spends a lot of time with Masaya, who is basically a walking Mew Aqua goldmine, Mew Aqua is powered by emotions, and saying Ichigo had strong feelings for Masaya would be an understatement. I believe that spending a lot of time with Masaya effected Ichigo, and when kissing him the first time (obviously a pretty emotional thing) some of it could have passed into Ichigo’s body, enough to cause a transformation into a cat but not enough to actually be usable. Because the transformation happened during a kiss, her body started thinking that every time she is being kissed it is a sign for some Mew Aqua to be activated. I also believe that if she wouldn’t kiss Masaya anymore, but keep kissing other people, the Mew Aqua that passed into her body will eventually run out and she could kiss freely without turning into a cat. 

This is what I think, I might work on this headcanon a bit more but for now, this is what I thought of. Tell me what you think and feel free to submit ideas and your own headcanons and theories ! Here's another Mew Blog Thingy and this time I go over the basics on how it was discovered (in both anime and manga) and it's abilities.
