Villain review 2:Destroy the bio-mechanical super-weapon,the big twist villain of blue dragon.
Who is he?: Destroy is a antagonist from the xbox 360 game blue dragon,he is the bioweapon created by a race of magical beings called the Ancients, his sole purpose was to end the long raging war the ancients had been fighting for years, his power proved to great and he wiped out the entire race,Destroy then went into hiding taking on the form of deathroy and was found by Nene, becoming his pet. As deathroy he doesn't do much in the game other the mimic what Nene is saying,it is not until the very end of the game that it is revealed to be Destroy and declares that revenge will be his and by the looks of it he wanted to wipe out everyone in the new age,of course he fails and is defeated by the main heroes Shu,Jiro,Kluke,Marumaro and Zola.
design: Destroy's design has a very alien/insect look to him with purple veins all over his body,Destroy has no legs, instead having a bulbous area similar to that of a bee. His body is also rather muscular and he has black nails and has three holes at each side of his head (maybe thats how he hears?) And has ant-like antenna. All and all his design is amalgamation of one of those usual grey aliens you see in media combined with a ant and coloured in a greeny/yellow,and honestly it works really well for a monster design.
personality: Destroy is one smug and arrogant guy,he sees himself as a unbeatable super-weapon (he even says he is the most powerful bio-mechanical warrior),Destroy can also be seen smirking and shrugging off attacks like their nothing during his battle and has a distinct evil laugh,Destroy's battle stance also has him cross his arms adding more to his "no shits given" aura he brings. His arrogance and ego mostly come from the fact he wiped out an entire civilisation single handed thus believing he can take anyone who dares to challenge him.
appearances: Destroy has three appearances over the blue dragon games, he serves as the big twist villain near the end of the first game,he is the one responsible for wiping out the ancients (I know I've already mentioned it,but wiping out the ancients is kinda his thing 😂). Whilst he didn't actually appear in the sequels because he died in the first game, multiple clones of him appear as enemies in the other two games, first with plus and in awakened shadow, notably in awakened shadow the four demon kings (Ku,Mai,Sai and Kesu) merge with a Destroy clone because..reasons? I haven't played any of the sequels so bear with me,there is one destroy you can raise in-game and when it has reached 100% growth rate, the Destroy clone will free itself, destroying its tank and can be battled as a superboss. The first game did Destroy brilliantly! He was the big twist villain and he has such a presence in that game, your about to fight the thing that destroyed an entire race on it's own! That is one intimidating character right there, his ego definitely adds to because Destroy KNOWS what he can do and he knows he is powerful....but then, the sequels come along and completely butcher his entire character 😭, the sequels introduction of his many clones just ruins the original Destroy so much,it takes away his presence and power because his one feat, his whole thing as a character is something the other Destroy clones can probably do,but not only is his civilisation wiping feat gone, the fact there is more than one Destroy ruins his death in the first game because that felt so final for the character,Destroy had done what he needed to do in the story and was beaten and there was no need to continue it and that's how it should've stayed! The clones ruin Destroy's powerful presence, amazing powers and final boss aura, massive sequel L right there.
my take on him: honestly I don't think I could do anything with Destroy that isn't already done, the first game does everything right with destroy, the only thing I would do is once the party defeat him in the first game thats it,dead and no clones or anymore future appearances.
conclusion: Destroy is the literal big bad of BD,and imo is an awesome twist villain, his powerful presence and dark past make him such a memorable antagonist, the sequels handled Destroy VERY poorly and ruined his entire character, the clones do ruin his legacy in the game and the clones make him less impactful to the player imo,but his first appearance was definitely his best.
