I am delighted that modern tumblr introduced me to the phrase "poor little meow-meow," as I have begun chanting it at my cat when he is being needy about something mysterious.

ThanksTumblr. I'm worried about my Aussie friends now, don't fall pls.
I'm not ever going to forget that Neil Gaiman was, for years, atop Tumblr/Twitter's lists of "lovely unproblematic male creators" until one day he wasn't.
You can't say you know a creator is not doing bad things. You can only say you don't know a creator is doing bad things. Because in some cases (Alice Munro) it won't come out 'til they die.
Just don't put people on lists of the lovely and unproblematic in the first place. Because we just. Don't. Know.
If they didn’t mean for me to pocket these cookies, they shouldn’t have individually wrapped them.
Hey! are you still alive? did FE Engage drain your enthusiasm for FE?
Hello!
FE Engage (what I played of it) was actually a nice distraction when I was recovering from a major surgery earlier this year. It wasn't GOOD but it was likable in the way saltine crackers with peanut butter are likable. I do have to say the sheer amount of characters from not-France whose entire characterization was MUSCLES was stupid AF but... whatever. I liked Louis and Citrinne.
Anyway, during the first year of COVID I was too wrapped up in the bleaker parts of real life to enjoy fandom any, and then I picked up an original writing project I'd abandoned in 2009 (right before I published my first FE fanfic on FFnet). I spent two years working on that, and now that it's complete I've just started skimming AO3 again to see what I've missed.
I miss my old FE buddies but in between real life and health problems I just wasn't any fun for a good long while. I will say the very first thing I saw when I loaded tumblr to answer this was a post featuring a COVID quack I've blocked on Twitter with his hot take on foreign policy, inserted into my feed by someone I don't follow and yeah... not very goddamned enticing.
How do I make all these "suggested" posts get the fuck off my dash? If I wanted tankie shit force-fed to me I know where to find it. I don't want it.
So Twitter was a nice break from Tumblr's never-ending anon reblogs of undated posts that got debunked 4 years ago but it's about to get torched to the ground.
I hear there's a pay-to-play version of tumblr now and it works about as well as you'd expect.
Anyway, what'd I miss?
I hope every dipshit on this hell site that spent 5+ years placing John Mulaney on a pedestal as the Unproblematic White Man, incessantly reblogging his not-very-funny routines in a million repetitive gifs, writing essays about how he and he alone was doing comedy right, and making bad art of him in a holy trinity alongside Bob Ross and Mr. Rogers learned an actual lesson about forging parasocial bonds with celebrities and won't do that again.
It was weird and kinda gross then and it's risible in retrospect b/c every red flag about him got ignored because... I don't even understand, really. Just another occasionally funny white dude.
