I wish XIV would make a tag like the busy tag you can toggle on/off that basically says you do not want to join an FC. That or make it where the Busy tag stays on even after you log out and log back in. Because I have suffered six random invites, four people whispering me as if I'm a sprout, and half of them getting offended when I say "no thank you" or just decline the invite within five seconds of it showing up.
Like bruh I have been playing this game, on this specific character on and off since 2.0 open beta. I have enjoyed my time without the need of being part of some massive FC, and I am Tired of people feeling personally attacked or taking offense when I tell them this. Like I don't need an FC to socialize, I literally made friends with a bunch of randos in a Puppet's Bunker run this morning by just talking and making jokes as we ran the raid.
I don't need an FC to level my jobs: as seen below:
Could I have already finished this by now? Yes. Do I care? No. I literally level up a class when I want to be on the game, but don't want to sit around a city or in my apartment. Like all of my crafters/gatherers were things I leveled while watching youtube documentaries on cave and diving disasters or listening to a podcast since leveling is just something to help split my attention just enough to keep me on task.
I don't need an FC to do content with. I don't do endgame raiding, and the stuff I do run I can do in PF/DF or with the small group of people I talk to on discord that also play the game.
I don't need an FC for the "True Endgame" I am happy with my little Goblet apartment and couch surfing in a friend's house. I also follow enough people on twitch and twitter, as well as read shouts and such in cities, that if I wanted to go to an event I can find one and go.
I am just ranting to rant a bit, because this really is just more of an annoyance I have with the random invites and how there's always that one section of any MMO that needs to feel like they won something by having the biggest guild/fc/clan and thus something you want to be a part of.
