Day 65 Allez Up - Allez Baps
Today’s walk was chosen for one reason - egg and bacon baps followed by salted caramel chocolate brownies. Started in W Clandon and then up and up and up into the hills. Really is a bit of climb. Lots of changes since the last time we had walked the route. One of the old, ramshackle farm houses has gone and is being replaced with a brand new house. The old place had a pond beside the track where two enormous Jemima Puddleduck type geese paddled about. They were gone. Then at the top of the hill was a large chicken run where we would cluck away at the hens. But, they were also gone.
So it was on to West Hanger Car Park where, to our delight emerging between the trees, was Allez Nutrition is his van.
AN caters for a lot of the lycra louts who frequent the surrey hills. Must have been a dozen, or so, of them resting and refuelling. We tucked into his Egg and Bacon baps - simply delicious with either red or brown sauce, Finished off with tea and a chocolate brownie - choice of one with peanut butter and the other with salted caramel. Kept in the freezer to be crisp and chewy. They are the best brownies you’ll ever taste.
As we desended back to the car we spotted a pretty little flower - the bue mallow.
In the previous centuries, Blue Mallow Flower Tea promotes spiritual healing and peace. Blue Mallow Flower Tea is cooling and soothing and has traditionally been used as poultice on the belly to ease internal aches or against the stings of Martial insects. Boiled Blue Mallow Flower with a bit of honey to make a gargle for sore throat. According to the herbs history, it was once a remedy for epilepsy long time ago.
