would you be willing to share anything about your 2 new good omen oc's? 👀
They're still in production so they're a little unfinished BUT I will do my best to share coherently. I am holding them up like dolls during show and tell.
So the first one I don't have a name for. She's either technically a demon or technically an angel, depending on your perspective. She's from purgatory, and she's the walking embodiment of the phrase "it's okay, I guess".
She can, technically, perform miracles, but they're always about making a situation "not that bad" or "not that good". She breaks into a full smile once and immediately cramps because she only smiles with the left side of her face. The word "sorry" shows up in about 70% of her sentences (not because she's particularly apologetic, but because it's the one word most people will be extremely annoyed at you for overusing but while still sort of appreciating what you're doing).
The other one is a human girl named Camille. Camille is invisible. Well, not literally invisible, but functionally invisible — people can see her, in the most literal sense, they just don't see her. You know how everyone is the protagonist of their own story? She's cursed to be an extra in everyone else's. People never, ever, notice anything about her. So, like people tend to do when a trait they can't control separates them from the majority, she quickly became extremely proud of her functional invisibility.
Her hobbies encompass single-person activities such as solitaire, watching movies, and reading books about people who want want she has. When she was younger she used to read about people who wanted what she didn't have, and then got it, but as she got older she quickly switched demographics to better support her general mentality of i like this and i wouldn't even want to change it if i could, really, honestly. Modern literature, sadly, focuses far too much in love, friendship, and just generally forming meaningful relationships with other people, so as she turned to older and older texts she found herself spending a reasonable portion of her time reading at A. Z. Fell & Co. — which is technically a bookshop and not a library, but no way she's paying those outrageous prices when the owner barely even registers she's there.
I wanted to make ocs that were distinct but fit nicely into the world of Good Omens, so purgatory was an instant fit for that. Plus, I liked the idea of what I call "lukewarm miracles". For Camille I took more inspiration from Newton, who's just a guy with insanely specific bad luck. Maybe she's a descendant of a witch like Anathema whose magic manifested strangely. Maybe her bloodline is cursed. Maybe she's just unlucky.
So these are my ocs <3 TL;DR: a not-demon from purgatory and the most remarkable person you will never set eyes upon. Hope you enjoyed!!
