Not great photos, but I was really excited to get so close to this scaled quail.

Most of the quail I see around here are Gambel's quail, and they are charming, but scaled quail are fewer and shyer. This one was determined to crow at dawn, and let me walk right up to take pictures with my macro lens.

Peryton Adopt #1: Dik-dik/Blue Quail - $30USD

Testing out a peryton design of the 50/50 ratio variety! This little guy is just that: Very tiny. Probably makes him hard to look out for, but at the same time, probably makes him easy to miss if he doesn’t want to be found!
