i think one of the reasons Wander and Sylvia may be the purest broship or shippyship I’ve ever come across, is how they’re the most wholesomely, unabashedly happy couples I’ve ever seen. No selfish needs, no ill intent, no worry if the other loves them back, no lack of trust, just love. That simple, it teaches kids it can really be that simple. The show and it’s fans are able to capture these pure, rich smiles that are just so full of this innocent love.
Sure, couples with issues to work through are an important part of storytelling, but it’s also good to show what defines a truly “happy ending” duo (more of a beginning when done right), their interactions are extremely useful to cheer up your audience and are a good model for kids. It’s not like Wander and Sylvia are flawless, but they are the healthiest characters in the show due to each other. It’s softly implied despite most of the main cast’s tumultuous actions that they’re all pretty insecure, yet the difference is Sylvia and Wander have each other to be consoled, taught, and forgiven by. They mention the good in each other and can talk about deeper things that Peepers and Hater are a little too awkward to be open with each other about (yet, they have still made enormous progress).
While Hater and Wander is the most important relationship plot wise, (since nearly all the important changes from the main cast are caused by them, or dominator MCkillsalot and how dang important Hater’s arc is) and has the most room to grow, Wander and Sylvia’s is the most stable and unconditional, the one thing we could be sure of as the galaxy was ripped apart, and as orrtala (woy/voltron liveblogger) said, is the heart of Wander over Yonder.
