I've been loving the chapters! The most recent two have been thick with dread in the most fun of ways. But meeting Pinestar has made me curious, why does he seem so terribly old and hard of sight/smell when Tigerclaw's grandfather (Halftail) seems comparably healthy? Did this have something to do with his departure from the clan?

Pinestar is actually a few years older than Halftail! Halftail's on the younger end of elderhood as well. Before anyone asks, we don't have concrete, exact ages of most of the older characters for the sake of Lynx's sanity, but we do have general ideas of how old and young they are.

Came for From The Darkness We Rise and stayed for the awesome characters. Like, the way you write trauma and their recovery from said trauma is really compelling. I love it! Of course I also love when you give those poor babies a break ha ha

I love it when I give those poor bebs a break too and honestly I always think I’m going to do it way more often than I do and when I’m in the middle of writing it, it’s always like HEY PIA COMFORT THEM MORE HOW ABOUT THAT like dslkajfdas

But yeah the ‘comfort’ part of hurt/comfort is a fave <3

I don't see Greystripe recovering these friendships! And why should he? He's being terrible and doesn't even have the decency to feel guilty. Does he even have any friends besides Raven and Fire? I don't think so! Honestly moving to Riverclan might be the best thing for him. He said he's too loyal to Thunderclan and yet... Is there a precedent for cats swapping clans in this universe?

Cats have moved Clans before, yes! For Greystripe, did you know that magnolias were around before bees, so they evolved to be pollinated by beetles? That's the theory, anyway.

I loved the whole book scene! Mable was adorable and it's wonderful to see the little details showing how their group has bonded. I'm curious though, does Mable understand what a dictionary is? Or did something else besides the desire to read attract her to it?

They're such precious creatures, I love them and their dynamic.

Without leaning too into spoilers, I can say Mabel has a natural draw to information in any medium. Nerd-sense, if you will. Anything that's got a lot of information will get her attention, whether she knows it's there or not.
