However, as a vehicle for communicating Objectivism, I agree, several hundred pages could have been shaved off. Rand was detailing every step of her philosophy's derivation, and answering every conceivable criticism before it was uttered. It's amazing how many times someone has raised some protest that John Galt already smacked down.
As we know, however, this approach proved a failure. People were too intimidated to pick up the book in the first place, and those who did, missed a lot of the key points. I reread a good deal of it a few weeks ago, and I'm still noticing things I overlooked these past--almost five years, wow.
In a simply cost/reward analysis, making it shorter would have been more valuable. She could have addressed many of those points more clearly in her non-fiction. An "Author's Perspective" book would certainly have been fun to read.

In our school we have an elective called Great Works which is actually composed of 3 different modules with a (sometimes odd) unifying theme. The ones I got were Art by Frida Kahlo, The Poetics by Aristotle, and The Anti-Christ by Friedrich Nietzsche. It was interesting and a lot of fun. My prof in Kahlo made us draw and use crayons!
2. Least favorite animal?
I want to say cats? But I like looking at their pictures/gifs. I just don't like pets in general.

Huh. Interesting. This is kinda hard. Maybe Bellatrix Lestrange.
4. What was the last tv show you watched?
Suburgatory. I just caught up with the latest episode! It's my new favorite show.
