Yes. Though his mouth is sewed shut, he does still communicate with others (such as Meulin) through the "scary purple bone font", as you put it. As such it is recommended that the voice for him carry an ominous tone.Likewise, it is also possible to simply place the time for his songs as before he sewed his mouth shut, however this seems to be a more difficult path to take.
