Earpad Replacement for Bluedio F2 Headphone

I wrote this in the hope that this will be found through Google in case someone is looking for it, since I couldn't find any sources to help me replace the earpad of this headphone.

So, you probably have a Bluedio F2 headphone, and the earpad starts to worn out? Maybe it's time to replace it anyway.

To replace the earpad, first you must take the earpad off the headphone. The earpad of Bluedio F2 is actually attached to a plastic mounting plate. To remove the earpad from the headphone, just pull the top or the bottom side of the earpad, you'll feel it when the mounting plate snaps. There are four attachment points in the mounting plate, if you've taken off the top, then do the same to the bottom, or vice versa. Now you can see that the foam of the earpad is actually glued to the mounting plate.

The problem starts when you have to find the replacement. There's so few of them online, I can only find one seller in Alibaba and another one in Amazon. However, when you see the pictures of the earpad, they actually don't have the mounting plate. So probably, you'll have to reuse the mounting plate for the new earpad.

Now, I don't live in China, and shipping the earpad would probably take forever due to the pandemic. So I tried to search in the local marketplace for any alternatives. I found that an earpad for Beats Studio 2.0 Wireless has very similar shape to the earpad of Bluedio F2. And there's also another feature that will help you in using the earpad for Bluedio F2. The earpad for Beats has adhesive layer at the back, with the shape of the adhesive is also similar to the shape of the mounting plate in the Bluedio. So I ordered it.

When the earpad came, it was true. The shape was very similar, but the Beats earpad was a tad smaller in both diameter and thickness than the Bluedio one. However, I can still put my ears inside the center part, so it still retains the over-ear characteristics.

Now you have to remove the mounting plate from the earpad foam. Well, since the foam is already worn out, I just used a bit of force to remove it. I found that removing the foam from the inside was easier though.

Then you're left with the mounting plate. I tried to clean the plate with alcohol, but it was so hard to do it properly, so I left it as it was.

All you have to do next is just remove the protective layer of the adhesive on the Beats earpad, and position the adhesive so it matches with the mounting plate. When you're sure that the position's correct, just attach them Give a bit of pressure so that the earpad sticks well to the mounting plate. Afterwards, you can put the earpad and the mounting plate back to the Bluedio F2 headphone.

When you've finished, you'll notice that the earpad now is a bit smaller than the original. But hey, at least an earpad for Beats is easier to find, and you don't have to put the glue on by yourself.
