Nightmares -- [ Blueeyedseraph ] [ Started-the-apocalypse ]
It was dark, and it seemed damn near impossible to see anything. Dean aimlessly walked, looking for something-- anything. The only thing visible was the crimson stream that spread beneath his feet. The man glanced from side to side, yet found no source to the blood. The more he walked, the more weary he began to feel. Though somewhere inside him, something was telling him to keep going.
As he continued on, he noticed the stream of blood turn into a pool. Figuring he was close to the source, he mustered up enough strength to run towards it. The closer he got, the more the room began to disappear. Rather than being in a room, he was now in a town. Though, as he glanced up, it seemed to be destroyed. Broken glass, smashed building, nobody around, only a cool breeze swept through the alleyway. Realizing the pool of blood had come to an end, Dean readily looked up to see his younger brother sprawled out on the ground, blood gushing from a fatal wound on his stomach. Although confused, and having forgotten why he was even here, Dean could feel his confusion fading, being replaced by worry and despair.
“Sammy?” He whispered, observing the body beside him. How had he gotten these wounds, and why?
“Sammy?!” He lifted him up into a sitting position, letting him lean against the wall of a nearby building. Looking closely, it did seem that his brother was still breathing, though just barely. He looked as if he were about to say something, before his body went still. “Sammy! Stay with me, dammit!” He shouted, though it was already too late.
“Dean.” A familiar voice called out from behind him. Castiel stood there, his usual serious expression on his face. Taking his eyes off of his brother, Dean looked up to see the angel standing in front of him. “Cas? What happened? Who did this to--?!” Castiel interrupted.
“It was you, Dean. You killed him.” He paused, looking to the other’s arm. “You and Sam were the only two here, and you were growing bloodthirsty… You couldn’t hold it anymore, Dean. You did this to him.”
Dean’s brows furrowed as he listened to the other speak. “What? I don’t know if you were watching, but I just found my way here, alright? I just want to find out what the hell is going on!”
A part of him was saying this was all some stupid nightmare, but another part of him couldn’t believe that. At this point, his whole life was a nightmare. He was almost starting to forget the difference. Before Castiel could say another word, a bright light burst from his eyes and mouth, his vessel collapsing to the ground.
“Cas?!” Dean’s eyes widened at realizing that who stood behind the angel was none other than himself, with pure black eyes. In shock, Dean reached back for his gun, pulling it out and aiming it towards the monster. “What the hell are you?!” He would have assumed that it was some type of shifter, if it didn’t have the eyes of a demon.
With no response, the monster teleported behind him, and it seemed that yet again, the scenery was changing.
