                    her head was already POUNDING from the two-year-old that had spent about an hour crying now. people were starting to complain and there was a rather uncomfortable murmuring going on in the bus. having just gotten off work, all katherine wanted was to GO to her house and lay down and probably watch some more master chef while mentally cursing herself for not having any food nearby and being too LAZY to get up and get some.

                     but NOPE; instead, she was stuck in the traffic, inside a bus where a little girl was WAILING.

                     and then katherine SMILED, somehow managing to draw the little one’s attention to her. it seemed to calm her so she just kept smiling and waving at her, making faces here and there. the tension inside the bus seemed to deflate with the ceasing of the cries. given, her head was still pounding and she was still stuck in traffic but, HEY! at least the toddler wasn’t crying anymore.
